I stayed at the adults only section of the hotel with my husband for a friend’s wedding. We stayed for 3 nights. We loved the full resort access to all restaurants and pools. My only complaint was on the second night my husband and I woke up with small marks all over our bodies that looked like bed bug bites. When I complained to management they didn’t seem surprised and didn’t offer us another room only to fumigate the room for us. I didn’t like how this was handled. It should have been taken more seriously and we should have been better accommodated. We had to stay that last night in the room but even after they claimed the room fumigated I didn’t feel confident that like they did anything but change the sheets. No smell upon our return after fumigation and it just didn’t feel right like we were brushed off. Aside from that, everything was good.

I have never been more disappointed than I was when I booked La Catalonia Royal Bavaro Adults only, all inclusive resort. Every single employee, was miserable, every meal was less than desirable Including the tres golpes, which I was anticipating on enjoying at an all inclusive in Dominican Republic. JUST BAD! Every drink simply made with the cheapest of ingredients.. I booked the duplex with the private pool,which was FAR FROM CHEAP! upon arrival the pool looked dirty but it was late and I assumed it was just darkness casting a shadow over the pool. however at 7 am the next morning the pool was indeed FILTHY, there was algae everywhere, I will include photos/videos in other reviews. I took a video clearing the algae with my hand off of the pool light inside the pool, Cockroaches shared the room with us and not the big ones that sometimes you cant help if they come in from the outdoors, Im talking about roaches from lack of cleanliness. we also had a hot tub in our room, the corner wall of the hot tub from top to bottom was filled with spider webs or rather cobb webs, webs that have been abandoned by the spider and just left to catch dust. The toilets did not flush and ran all night the 7 days we were there. the "Food Truck" Never had chicken wings, and served undercooked burgers and a chicken salad sandwich that literally had 2 tiny grilled pcs of chicken. i fed it to the many stray dogs on the dirty and unkept beach and even they turned their nose up the chicken bread.

We loved this resort. Beautiful Place with plenty to do on site. It is close enough to the downtown area of Punta Cana that if you want to go its easy to taxi over there but also far enough away that you feel like you are at a nice getaway. The staff was fantastic and always friendly. House keeping was great leaving plenty of water and snacks each day. I would definitely stay here again.

This is the nastiest resort i’ve ever vacationed at. I will never recommend catalonia royal hotel to anyone. Some staff are friendly, some are not. The room had multiple cockroach that i recorded and showed the manager. every day i woke up, there’s a cockroach in my face! due to excursion coming back late, the staff at front desk gave away the new room we were supposed to move into. the food is disgusting. the property is still under construction. overall experience 4/10. great aesthetics, yet i’ve complained more than ever while on vacation! do better!

I really enjoyed the friendliness, and kindness of the staff. They all seemed happy, genuine, very helpful, and eager to assist in any situation for any request. Team managers were all on top of their game and had staff reporting to them all working hard to achieve customer satisfaction. We were extremely pleased and grateful.

Beautiful grounds and wonderful welcome! The food was great overall! We stayed for 5 days which is perfect. Most staff were great. The beach however was loaded with seaweed. The groundskeepers did rake each morning and sometimes afternoons but unfortunately you cannot lay on the beach or swim in the ocean. The pools are beautiful but not heated. I was not able to get my bathing suit wet during this trip. In my package was room service included. The two times we ordered, no show twice!! When the weather was windy for our planned romantic dinner on the beach, I called the front desk. I was given so much attitude and condescending for just basic communication. There was no calls to us that we would be moved to a restaurant or our room, etc. the guy on the phone was like “ You’re on a tropical island, what do you expect?” I was simply shocked. The attention to details is very poor. When I gave my food restrictions, they were completely ignored. We noticed staff turning other guests away if they didn’t have reservations. It was obvious to us, there were so many empty tables. Most of the time, we couldn’t take the alcohol in our drinks. We were supposed to have beach towels in our rooms as part of our package. Just one day, we had that. I wouldn’t come back.

Food and service were both terrible. The theme speciality restaurants specially are substandard both in quality preparation and presentation of dishes . Service is poor too. We were missing an item after housekeeping in our room we filed a report and nothing was done about it, no follow up either. Don’t waste your vacation time or money here . Plenty of much better resorts who deserve your business

The overall experience was good. Some of their front desk receptionist could be well coming. . I wouldn’t label this facility as a five star facility maybe 3 1/2 or four stars. They want to charge you extra money for using an outdoor hot tub more than once during. Their best restaurant is the one by the lobby. I wouldn’t recommend their sushi restaurant at all. Please don’t advertise it as 5 star resort.

The property and staff were wonderful (although, I did not appreciate the sales pitch for their travel service). The food was terrible! I would not ordinarily leave a review, but I feel people need to know how truly bad the food was.

The rooms are dated and need a complete remodel. It rained the first few days and the sidewalks that lead from the guest rooms to the eateries was completely submerged and very muddy. It was an uncomfortable experience walking through the mud. Our choice was to walk barefoot or get our shoes completely soaked and muddy. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room service was efficient.

The location is fantastic and highly accessible. It has a lovely shoreline, wonderful staff, tasty cuisine, and beverages. The accommodation was rather dated, lacking hot water in the shower, but we did have some in the bathtub.
