Pros Pool is large and clean. Resort is pretty Shopping on site Cons Service was slow or non existent Ex: we ordered room service at 645pm and after 3 calls and a trip to the Lobby (bc no one would answer front desk phone) food arrived at 953pm Our room had 3 towels for 4 ppl and I called SEVERAL times requesting more towels they came the next day in the afternoon so our first night we had to share towels. I went to get towels for the pool and stood and waited for someone for several minutes. I started to walk into the hut to get my own towels only to find the employee sleeping on piles of dirty towels. She seemed very annoyed to be woken up and was not friendly. My son and I went to buffet to get dessert and we were sat at a dirty table when I pointed out the table being dirty to the hostess she covered the food and spilled drink with a napkin, my son's napkin was dirty and used so we just left. If you're vegetarian there will not be a lot of options for food. I ordered an eggplant dish at the fancy French restaurant and they brought me a stale piece of bread with cold like refrigerator cold pieces of broccoli and carrots on top that was my meal. Comfort - Good luck relaxing on the beach you will be hounded by vendors. There are no designated smoking areas you can smoke really wherever you want. As a non smoker I didn't enjoy the cigarette smoke and marijuana that was being smoked by the pool and all over the resort, especially since I was traveling with my kids.

This was first time traveling to the DR. My experience was okay. At check in, I did not get the room with the double beds with ocean view that I paid for. I was told that it was not available because they do not have those. They said Expedia post is wrong. Say what? Also, on our first day as we checked in around the end of lunchtime an explanation was given to the front desk that we were hungry. I was given haphazard instructions on how to get something to eat. Finally, made it to our room and went to the buffet near the beach and got reprimanded by staff for touching the food and for seating in the wrong area. Not a very good start at all. The room air conditioning was barely working and the mini fridge items were warm. The toilet seat in the bathroom was ill fitted and cracked. The sofa was dirty and we requested extra sheets to cover it up because of all the stains. Fair warning, the pool opens at 8 am and closes at 6 pm. There were no lifeguards at the beach nor at the pool. There was trash all over the pool. Littered by drinks some of which were in glass…that’s a bit dangerous. They definitely need someone spotting around the pool regularly for trash and debris. The place needs updating in areas. If you are someone who does not eat pork products or if you’re vegetarian be forewarned this place may not be for you.

Stayed here with a friend for a week - we struggled to find anything wrong with the resort except for very small things - our room could stand a little touching up - small tile cracks, balcony extra door lock dangling (we were on 3rd floor so not a big deal), ice machines nearly always empty (but easily got ice at ANY bar) They are currently renovating many of the rooms. All that aside…..we were about 25min ride from the airport. I checked in ahead so checking in on arrival was super quick. We had a beautiful view from our room with a nice balcony. Staff was very friendly. Food was good and always available. Plenty of bars scattered about. Pool is large and amazing! Beach is beautiful as is the water - tho would recommend water shoes as there are some rocky areas & the water is a bit wavy. Security visible on property but never felt unsafe. We didn’t go to the evening shows but did enjoy the live music in an outdoor central cafe type area every night. We did schedule 2 outings thru the resort’s excursion office - one being a shuttle to a “shopping area” - would NOT recommend - the shuttle took us to a medium sized single souvenir shop - incredibly disappointing - don’t waste your time. Overall, GREAT resort! Would definitely return!

The Majestic Colonial is a wonderful resort filled with friendly staff, tons of entertainment, and pretty ok food. Our butler, Edwin, went above and beyond to provide us excelent service during our stay. He personally handedled all reservations, check in/out, and even had our room decorated to celebrate our honeymoon. The resort is clean and located right next to a beautiful beach. The worst part of our stay was knowing we had to eventually leave.

I cannot say enough about how incredible the experience was! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. They were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. The resort itself was immaculate—every corner was spotless, and the attention to detail was impressive. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options that catered to all tastes. Every meal felt like a gourmet experience, from breakfast to dinner. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool or enjoying the beach, the atmosphere is both luxurious and laid-back. Definitely outstanding service, beautiful surroundings, and incredible food, this resort is a must-visit. We can’t wait to return!

This hotel was like paradise. The beautiful beaches to the cleanliness of the resort, it was just about the perfect experience. The food selection was great although four of us that travelled ended up with minor GI issues. Not sure what got is exactly. The butler service was great. Our butler Willnier was very accommodating and helped us book all of our meals and golfing. The spa was luxurious. We did the hydrotherapy and the Orange Crush exfoliating massage. Booked one trip through Go Majestic that I don’t recommend. The Seaquarium. Not a great excursion. It’s expensive and our equipment malfunctioned. It’s unfortunate that the hotel promotes that trip. Other than that we loved our experience and will return again soon!

Best place to enjoy peace and quiet! The staff are amazing from the dining all the way to the activities team. Queen treatment from the moment stepped on the property. Night life is very diverse and enjoyable. Nothing too over the top and nightly dancing with staff!

My husband and I had a wonderful time. We were treated incredibly well. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Place was beautiful and there was a ton to do!

My husband and I had a wonderful time. So much to do! Pool was huge! Tons of activities, beach was gorgeous, water was aqua blue. At night Live music was awesome and the atmosphere incredible. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Our butler Yulian was a sweetheart and always took the time to check in on us. The shops were great for buying souvenirs or even things you might have forgotten to pack. Our room was huge and our cleaning lady Francesca made me a bubble bath twice!! They really treat you like royalty. One tip, don’t purchase excursions on the beach, do it through the hotel. Much safer.
