Very Disappointing
To begin with, we liked the condo and the location. The problem was, our entire stay was during a complete building painting project, with the lift machine parked beside our 2nd floor balcony and operating all day. We also had to vacate the condo while the walkway was painted and couldn't be used for 24 hours, as well as all day to do the balcony. We arrived to this, as well as an elevator that wasn't working for several days, a front door lock that wouldn't open and had to replaced, all the light bulbs had to be replaced in the kitchen, the 2nd bedroom bathroom had a pocket door that wouldn't slide, and the pool was closed for two weeks, which we reported to Salty Dog.When we reserved the condo I asked if any known projects were occurring during our stay and was told that it was hard to say since storm damages couldn't be foreseen, which makes sense. What doesn't is that this painting project had to be planned, approved by the owners, and scheduled. Our problem is that the owners supposedly didn't tell the Salty Dog property manager, or post any remarks on the VRBO rental posting, like I have seen on other posting. I spend a lot of time researching postings, and have had luck on past rentals, but our luck ran out this time. There should be a way for someone making the investment to rent a place, be told up front of pending work. It seems there is enough wiggle room between owner, property manager, and VRBO to have that info slip by.
