Do Not Stay Here
Stairs to the front door wrapped in red caution tape because they are literally falling apart ( Not as shown in photos). Key didn't open the only other door accessible. 40 minutes after arrival was finally told you have to manually lift garage door to get to the inside door that the key goes to. That was not included with the access instructions. Railing is only on one side of the stairs in the garage which made it hard for my disabled husband to get in and out. The toilet clogged on arrival & no plunger. I bought one and left it for the next guest. Both balconies looked as dangerous as the front stairs. Water damage on walls throughout, smell musty and moldy. Table had three chairs, one falling apart and the fourth in pieces in the garage on a pile of garbage. I have photos to back all of this up. Can't believe VROB allows a place like this on their site.

Decent Place
This was a decent stay. The fireplace chimney was clogged and all appliances, pans etc are very old so would recommend bringing your own pans at minimum. Cant complain about the price and location tho!

Interrupted get-away
We enjoyed being close to Brundage and in the beautiful town of McCall. We enjoyed having the wood stove. The check-in process was easy as all the codes were emailed prior to arrival. Of note, we booked and paid through Vrbo but then were directed to Vacasa as it is managed through that company. That is a little confusing. Unfortunately, we found out the morning of check-in that the house had sustained some flooding in the sunroom due to an ice dam on the roof. We were not given the option of canceling the reservation or a discount. We were told the flooding was limited to the sunroom and the rest of the house was fine (which was true). Unfortunately, the clean-up crew wasn't just limited to the sunroom area. They had to use the water connections inside the laundry room and were in and out of the house for hours. We were there for our honeymoon and were disappointed to not get the privacy we were hoping for and, had we known it was going to be like this, we would have appreciated the option of finding somewhere else to stay. The listing indicates there is space for one vehicle in the garage but it was too small for our full-sized pickup truck. As far as cleanliness goes, the comforter had a makeup mark from someone's face (not ours). Also, the instructions said to start a load of towels on check-out but we were unable to find any laundry detergent. Overall, I feel the money I paid for the four nights stay (including trip cancelation insurance and fees) was way overpriced for what we got. I sent a message to the host through the Vrbo app regarding our disappointment with our interrupted stay and did not receive a reply. Maybe I should have also messaged through Vacasa...

Convenient, Comfortable Vacation Home
This property is much as pictured in the listing photos. It was clean (except for the upstairs ceiling fan whose blades were encrusted with dirt), easy to access, and had basic amenities. (No "starter" coffee or tea, so bring your own caffeine!) The area felt safe, was close to town and to the North Beach area, and very quiet. It would have been useful to have a binder with a few maps related to area hiking or activities, a map for accessing the lake from the cabin (like a previous reviewer, we never found the lake access) and/or some brochures for restaurants and the like. Also, directions for using the stove fireplace (where's the damper located?) would also have been helpful. The lighting was dim (needs brighter bulbs), especially in the main living area. The heating worked well and kept us very comfortable. We didn't try to access the wifi, so can't comment on that. Television channels were very limited. Having a garage was a great bonus. Perfect vacay cabin for a small family or two couples.

Disappointing
There were several confusing disappointments in this rental. We had an abundance of bath towels but only one washcloth. We had plenty of cleaning supplies but there was only one used roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and a half-roll of paper towels in the kitchen. In 10 years of renting vacation houses, I have NEVER had to buy my own toilet paper. Many of the dishes and cooking supplies had grease and bits of food on them. The stove had misplaced temperature buttons and one of the burners did not work at all. The property itself was unpleasantly run-down. There was a broken closet door in the upstairs "bedroom", and a leak coming from the ceiling at the top of the stairs. Additionally this was advertised as a house without clarification that it's actually a duplex. I specifically did not want to share a wall with anyone during my vacation. As I spent much of the last 4 days feeling uncomfortable and running back and forth to the store for supplies like toilet paper, I would like a partial refund. I cannot recommend this property to anyone. I will be hesitant to use or recommend VRBO in the future as I feel this property was poorly stocked and maintained, and improperly represented.

Great Summer Stay
Everything went very well for our stay. Just 2 notes, though. The Wifi router and TV are wired to an unlabeled wall switch along with the ceiling fan. So if the Wifi suddenly dies, check that wall switch. Garbage collection is early Monday morning and you need to pull the garbage bin out to the road for it to get emptied. We found a fan in the garage to help with cooling the kitchen, which does get hot when cooking. Property location is very good. However, could not find public access to the lake within walking distance.
