I would stay elsewhere
The hotel was supposedly going through renovations, and due to that a lot of the amentities were not available. On top of that the hotel charged a destination fee even though we stayed at a different hotel that did not. It was overally expensive for what it was and very outdated. Did not love staying here.

No gym and no pool
I booked this hotel because hotels.com lists “gym” as an amenity and the hotel’s website boasts that it has a state-of-the-art fitness center. When I asked the front desk employee where the gym is, I was told, “oh we don’t have a pool or a gym.” When I mentioned the website listing, the employee clarified, “well we do have them but they’re closed for renovations.” I am frustrated that hotels.com and the hotel website list the gym as an amenity when it’s not available. In the past couple of weeks, I’ve received two emails from the hotel trying to get me to spend more money and upgrade my stay—so they have my contact information—but not once did they email me to let me know that their amenities are not available. Room was very clean. I could hear the TV of the room beside me, but used my phone’s white noise app and that worked to drown out the sound. The toiletries in the room are not the small individual bottles, but the refillable large bottles mounted on the wall. There was a Keurig coffee machine w pods in the room, plus two free bottles of water.

As a platinum, an upgrade is not always a given, so when I got an email from the hotel to pay for a nicer room, I did. Room was nice and with par for what I paid...but 0 hot water and I was trying to run for dinner with friends. Called the front desk and they said they would call maintenance and that it would take about 10 mins. Since I had someone picking me up in 20 mins and I had just dragged 3 huge bags I asked to change rooms. I was told no. That maintenance had to come up and "check" the lack of hot water. I was fairly taken back. I thought it over and called back again asking to change rooms. Girl at the desk was super snotty. Patched me through to a manager that was also super snotty and when I pressed to be moved as I was on a time crunch, they came and moved me into a much smaller room. Pretty much what I had originally paid for. To top it off the bar/restaurants are all closed except for their super pricey little store. This is my second issue at this hotel. I fly through LAX every other month and will be taking my dollars elsewhere. I will also be backcharging my card for that upgrade I paid for. Paying $300 ish and asking for hot water is not a lot to ask for. Save you $ and head over to one of the many other hotels that don't treat their guests like an annoyance.
