The Space:
Welcome to the Satellite Hotel, a high-rise Colorado Springs landmark built in the swingin’ ‘60s. Today, it’s a combination hotel/condominium. It has a distinctive retro vibe, but make no mistake -- this is no crumbling relic. It’s been stylishly remodeled and is pure chic.
Your condo unit was designed with entertaining in mind, and you’ll know it the moment you enter. The open concept living space gives the impression of an upscale cocktail lounge. The first thing you’ll notice is the back wall, made entirely of windows and incorporating sliding doors that lead to a spacious terrace with a jaw-dropping mountain view.
At the center of the living space, an inviting seating area with a sumptuous, masculine L-shaped leather sofa and recliner is clustered near a wall-mounted TV and an elegant, wall-recessed electric fireplace the length of an ocean liner.
In one corner of the room, you’ll find the bar, worthy of any nightclub and surrounded by 5 ultra-comfortable seats. (NO alcohol included). The back wall is highlighted by recessed, neon-lit bottle shelving and includes a sink and refrigerator behind the bar. Running along the adjacent wall, trendy gray cabinetry frames a food prep area with a range, microwave, and useful accessories like a toaster, cutting boards and chef’s knives.
A round glass-topped dining table with a quartet of chairs is perfect for morning-after breakfasts or a spread of hors d'oeuvres. It stands alongside a red London phone booth – a great conversation piece!
You’ll find the terrace deep and wide enough to accommodate a large group of guests, and outdoor seating is provided for at least 13, with additional folding chairs and a grill for preparing meals al fresco. The terrace runs the entire length of the unit, with access from the bedroom through a set of sliding doors.
The bedroom is stylish and elegant with a king-size bed, extra-large closet, and a desk and chair for those working during their stay. Directly across from the bedroom, a clean, simple bath provides a large walk-in shower with glass doors as well as a vanity with storage space below and a large mirror.
The Satellite Hotel also has an outdoor pool situated against a “wow” backdrop of the Rockies. There is a
gym and community laundry room for our floor. Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit. This home is managed by a local vacati/on rental specialist, and there’s a sense of quality and care that’s worthy of your 5-star review.
