We arrived at 3:00PM for the check-in time and there was a long line that goes outside the hotel. Waited for 1 hr to be finally checked-in only to be told that our room wasn't ready. Breakfast is basic. Rooms were clean. Grocery right across so it was very convenient but nothing much nearby.

Let down by poor customer service
The room was reasonable but the air conditioning was constantly cold. We complained and the hotel said they would send someone up to look at it but no one came. Also requested that our room be cleaned on the second day and again no one came. When checking out the receptionist wasn’t interested in hearing my comments. The chap in front was also complaining his room was cold and that the air con wasn’t warming up the room only cooling. Overall disappointing.

The rooms are large and we had an incredible view. The breakfast has a tremendous selection of fresh items to choose from. The beds were very comfortable. The only thing that would improve it is a shuttle service to the Airport. An excellent place to stay if you are in transit.

A great breakfast buffet with a good variety of choices was the highlight. Room was basic, almost spartan, but comfortable. Would recommend. Only negative was check in which was slow even though there were at least 4 people manning the counter.

If you go to Holiday inn from AMS central station, just take a free ferry (F2) from the pier outside the station, and have 12 min walk, you may reach the hotel easily. There are 2 supermarkets very near the hotel and close till 10pm. A bar Lolander near the hotel serves delicious food. Better not to request for early checkin, it will incur additional cost for this service.

We have stayed at this property for the last few summers and know what to expect with regards to parking and what is available in the area. On this past trip we stayed for 2 nights, very expensive due to the prices going up due to the Grand Prix being that weekend. We decided to eat in the restaurant and the food was lovely apart from asking for some ketchup and then not being brought any and then the dish my partner had included a nan bread, I had to go to the bar and enquire after it, the staff member when to the kitchen and returned with a brown piece of bread as they had no nans. Not a big issue but they weren't busy at all so am not sure why this happened. It is a lot of money to pay for a meal that they give you a piece of brown bread. The rooms are comfortable and have tea and coffee facilities in the room. A nice stay but not for over £200 a night.

1- air conditioning didn’t work. Manager came upstairs and said it was a quiet system but what he means about being quiet it didn’t work at all. I stood on chair in front of vent and no air was coming out at all. He said he reset the system and to give it a chance. We went out for about 5 hours and when we got back it was the same. I went downstairs to front desk they said I had to talk to manager who I never found so I barely slept at all. 2- no fridge in room which I understand in Europe a lot of hotels don’t but I bring special cream with me and they refused to let me put in their fridge. 3-I found staff were not helpful they gave us a free drink in the bar to compensate so thinking it was a bar I could have a nice drink which I asked for bartender said not allowed to so I just had a coke, one of the smallest bottles I have ever seen. My wife asked for a glass of wine in which he put about an inch of wine in the glass and said that’s all he is allowed to. In conclusion I think I would have been better to sleep in back lane I may have slept better. I have stayed in many Holiday Inns and normally I find them good but after this I have to think seriously of changing.
