Pretty Property

House is super cute and beautiful property. Kitchen is very limited on supplies to use so if you plan on cooking a lot bring your own supplies. Overall, very pleased with our stay.

Nice house with great scenery

House was clean and great location. The road to get to the house is a gravel road and quite steep. The minivan we drove it was sliding around trying to get up and bottomed out a couple of times. Also the kitchen is nice but short on cooking/baking items. Should purchase a knife set and a decent set of pots and pans and baking trays for guests to use. There was no firewood provided for the fire pit.

Amazing Hill Country Getaway

We had the best stay at Southwind! The hidden bedroom was perfect for 4 of our 5 kids with plenty of space for each of them to sleep and play. The master bedroom fit me, my husband and our almost 2 year old with lots of room to spare! The two remaining bedrooms were perfect for my sister and father with their own private bathrooms. Our kids loved exploring the property and just being kids unplugged! We loved this spacious, clean, modern home for our stay in Wimberly. Everything was as pictured and as described. Super easy check -in/out process. We can’t wait to visit again!

Great Location

Overall good stay. A few things to mention. The road to the house is gravel and a bit steep. We were spinning tires a few times. The home wireless worked about 5% of the time. We relied on our cell data.I do recommend this property.

Beautiful property but there are problems

The property is lovely. However, the main A/C went out the first day we were there. We were told they were having problems with the a/c unit but the owner felt the minisplits in two of the bedrooms was sufficient to cool the entire house, he was wrong. In addition, if you were taking a shower, and someone else used the sink, the water to the upstairs shower stopped completely. The water pressure was nonexistent to start. The internet went out constantly which wasn't a huge issue, but meant you couldn't watch the one TV when we were hanging out in the house. Finally, we found 2 scorpions and a centipede in the house. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

Great Hill-Side Get-Away

Quiet, peaceful get-away. Fantastic patio and view setting (rolling hills and trees, birds) to relax and enjoy. Only used the first and second rooms (not the 3rd / top floor at all) and everything was very nice. Comfy beds. Would certainly return.

Great house on a great property right outside town

The house is beautiful with an amazing property and great views. Its 5-10 minutes away from tons of cool things to do like Jacob's well, the blue hole and all the fun downtown Wimberly has to offer. As mentioned in a few other reviews, there are not a lot of pots and pans. One frying pan to be exact. We solved for this with aluminum cooking trays from HEB. The house seemed pretty clean but the floor was filthy, the kids feet turned black after walking through barefoot and when we went to clean up spilled water by the fridge the paper towel from the floor was pretty bad. The grill ran out of propane and no one responded immediately so we went into heb and got a replacement but we heard back from the management company the following day and they did reimburse for the cost. I mentioned the floor and pans just for awareness, it would not prevent us from going here again. Definitely should mention the road is unpaved, very rocky and has some steep sections for sure. We enjoyed a lot of time on the patio taking in the view and the decor/layout of the house is welcoming and enjoyable. We took several walks just around the property enjoying the views as well. We would definitely return.

Great property!

We stayed for 4 nights with our family. Great property--definitely remote and peaceful but very close to the great town of Wimberley. Rental was clean and pretty much as advertised. A few light bulbs need to be replaced and they only supplied one roll of paper towels and a few garbage bags so bring those if you are staying for a few days and cooking, etc.

Just Okay

This was our second time staying here and it felt like new management because the place wasn’t as clean and there was only 4 pillows in the WHOLE house that had pillow cases. I tried to communicate with the owner, but they were not ver responsive at all. Then, of course half way through cooking dinner the propane for the grill went out. The house is also invested with ants and they got into all our stuff which made it hard to pack up and go home. For the price, they are just really cheap - only providing ONE trash bag and making us go buy more. Which if you are familiar with the area is difficult to do since this house is out in the boondocks. Overall, I am just sad that it is so poorly ran because it’s a great location and a lovely overall home, but I wouldn’t recommend it because the owners are so cheap.

Beautiful home

The size of the home is lovely, especially the outdoor area. A few FYI’s…the bedroom with multiple twin beds is a former attic space and very nice, be aware the stairs to access are spiral and very very tight. Taking luggage up to that level is a challenge. Secondly, during our stay the air conditioning temporarily stopped working. It was 93 degrees in that area. As a host myself, I was a bit frustrated by the response - the emergency person was available and essentially - sorry. I would have preferred alternate arrangements for the 4 adults sleeping in the area. Lastly, the kitchen has plenty of flatware, plates and glasses however no where near enough pots and pans for a family. Ultimately I bought a pot. Again, the house is lovely as is the ranch.

Dad's 85 birthday

Everything went well. The only issue that was actually no big deal was there were no outside trash cans at the house. We figured out the ones out by the road must be for the house and were not brought back up the hill by the maintenance crew after trash pickup. It actually worked out fine.

a little disappointing

This is a great house. We enjoyed the space and the property! Almost every dish I got out was dirty. I got a bowl out of cabinet with crumbs in it, a skillet with dried food in it, a knife that was not clean. We went and bought paper plates and plastic ware so we wouldn't have to use anything else. I boiled water to wash anything we had because there was no hot water in the kitchen.

Great House and Location. Perfect for our Stay

Had a group of 9 of us together for a graduation at Texas State University. It was a great stay. Plenty of room for everyone, clean and a great location. Minutes from Wimberly, 20 min from San Marcos, 45 min to Austin and an Hour to San Antonio. Sayed for a week and really enjoyed it! Firepit is awesome, even saw some deer on the property! Highly recommend I'd certainly stay again.

Beautiful house with beautiful views

They provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay including throw blankets, nice soaps, bath salts, completely stocked kitchen. The house is beautifully renovated and has beautiful artwork throughout. The fire pit is huge and we had a wonderful evening sitting around the fire pit under the stars. Our only complaint was that the house felt warm in the common areas at mid-afternoon.
