FIRST FLOOR: Open floor plan includes living room, dining room, and kitchen. Kitchen has an island with modern appliances and an adjacent laundry room. There is a small wood stove in the kitchen area that is perfect for cozy mornings. Walk out of the kitchen to a very private deck with a gas grill plus seating for 8 and a fenced backyard. A second, larger wood stove in the living room creates a cozy space with a sleep sofa and TV, DVD/VHS player. The dining room seats 8 comfortably. On the first level, the main bedroom has a king-sized bed and a large picture window for gorgeous morning views. The second bedroom has a double bed. Two full bathrooms (showers only) are on the main floor. The screened side porch is a perfect place to read on the futon or rocking chairs.

SECOND FLOOR: One bedroom with a double bed and cot and another bedroom with Lemoyne sleeper twin cots that can be converted to a king bed.

OUTDOORS: The 1/4 acre side yard is very private and perfect for hammocks or games such as croquet or badminton (all provided). It is a convenient stroll to the Dewire Center, shops in town or to the Hardly Able at the Edgemere Dock.

Cook cottage sleeps up to eight. This is a non-smoking cottage. Pets are negotiable with a non-refundable pet fee. Wifi is available at Cook Cottage, but cannot bet guaranteed.

Family Gathering

We had a fun time, although we had to drive to most places. The cottage was well-equipped, once we found things. One window in the master bedroom couldn't be opened. There were a few places where wood was rotting. I am handicapped and was unable to go from the kitchen to our bedroom, but that was just for me, and the place was not advertised as handicapped accessible. Thanks goodness for the fans! We finally found lids for pans, but we never found the light for the fluorescent lighting in the kitchen. The table was very weak on the ends and needs another leg at each end, or something. The toaster oven was a bit confusing to operate. Overall it was a good experience.

We only used one bedroom and two bathrooms. Showers were too small and uncomfortable. Kitchen was very dated, old refrigerator and range. Things in it were ill organized and hard to find. House had a musty smell. We love Eagles Mere but will stay someplace different next time
