Overall I really enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable, stream side was beautiful, the night club and restaurants definitely give you activity at night, they even had a band play which was cool. Only problem is I was really looking forward to the indoor pool which was freezing. I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be a pool or a extremely large cold plunge. The staff tries their best. It’s a pretty old property so it could use some TLC. But I will return.

Convenient, comfy stay. Nice inclusion of nature in design. Oddly there was nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom nor could I find a filtered water fountain available to guests. Every staff member I talked with was great!

My room was on the top floor of the tower part, the elevator was right next to my room and was so loud when being used it rumbled the room! When I got into my room I noticed 2 flys buzzing around I killed then with a towel on the window, as soon as I killed them more flys came in I don’t know where from, I killed 9 in total, weird!

Front desk staff was unable to get reservations correct. I called 3 times to confirm and reservations were wrong each time. No heat in the room on snowy day. Power went out for 2 days. Tried to cancel a room and phones didn’t work. Just bad all around.

Let’s start with a bit of a backstory: a party of 15 of us arrived Friday evening. There was a small snowstorm that day. The Woodlands resort apparently lost power because of it on Friday morning. None of us received a phone call to notify us of this issue. When we get to the hotel around 7PM, they are turning people away saying there is a shortage of rooms. They reluctantly gave us all rooms, all of which had a plethora of issues. Most of the rooms had only partial electricity and no heat. We did not have an option to stay somewhere else, as the manager, Nobu, refused to give us a refund. At 2AM, I was woken up to the carbon monoxide detector in my room going off. We let the front desk know, who did nothing. Turns out they were running 3 diesel powered generators inside with no ventilation. I called the Plains fire department, which showed up quickly. They tested the carbon monoxide levels in the room where the generators were, which read at dangerous and potentially life threatening levels. The fire department turned off the generators (which turned out to not even be powering anything, as the hotel only had a blown fuse and was receiving all of their electricity from the street). We were told to not go to sleep, as they tested other areas of the hotel. We were finally given the go ahead to sleep at 5AM. Nobu refused to give us a refund for this issue. He was incredibly rude to us and to his employees. We all paid full price for this horrible and scary experience.
