Great location but not clean or good indoor air quality
The location of the house and access to the beach was great. The cleanliness of the house wasn't great, mainly the many, many stains on the carpets throughout the house. Not sure if these were pet accident stains but there were many including on the stairs. It looked like the carpets weren't cleaned for quite awhile, including chair cushions. The lower level entrance and basement were very musty and mildew smelling which also caused the air quality throughout the house to be poor when first arriving. It took several hours to air out the 1st level and upstairs to make it more tolerable, but the musty air was always present coming from the lowest levels. If those items were fixed, then I would stay again. If not, then I would look elsewhere even though the location was great.

Not fussy, but . . .
Location is fantastic relative to beach and town and view and natural light in main room is as shown in pics. Having 4 bedrooms Kitchen and bathrooms improved up to VRBO norms HOWEVER . . . 1)Carpet going to upstairs and in upstairs hall is close to being more large stains than clean spots? This non fussy group elected to not walk barefoot on it on a beach vacation! 2) No A/C is in listing so it is a choice but blinds are important to keep afternoon sun to a minimum to keep temps down. An entire blind was missing in dining room on west side! 3) There are some type of bags filled with water hanging throughout house related to issues with dampness particularly in lower level. The smell is not good and although our group did not need to use the downstairs beds I don't think anyone could put up with it. 4) Obviously not controllable by owner but a bat was inside the house on last day. Flew from kitchen down the basement? 5) Could argue this is vacation house for beach time etc but ... the only TV in the house is the size of a small computer monitor and not of modern times to make connection to your device easy. TVs today are really cheap? 6) typical of these rentals, hard floors were swept but really dirty if you had to wipe up a water drop or similar. The place is a tough one. We had a good time but were definitely offput by smell/mildew on lower level and particularly carpet on stairs. At $700 plus a night all in, it definitely felt wrong. POTENTIAL is great here.

Frankfort beach front
The home was as beautiful as described and reflected in the pictures. The agency (Vacasa) was responsive and easy to work with. Suggest providing more instructions about the amenities - the coffee maker was temperamental and locating the outdoor garbage receptacles required circling the house and looking in basement windows and figuring out how to get to them once located. Also, a limited number of pans for cooking. But the view from the home was AMAZING! Listening to the waves at night was soothing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fall Getaway with Friends
Great rental with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan with enough room for a large group of friends. We enjoyed the walkability to downtown Frankfort - easy access to shopping and restaurants. The walk down the beach from the house took minutes and was breathtaking. Some small cleanliness issues and a shower that was difficult to manage - but otherwise a great rental.

Great location
Unfortunately when we arrived, garbage was overflowing in the bins outside right where you enter the front door. Not a pleasant arrival. Thank you for responding quickly and removing it. The kitchen coffee grinder looked like it had never been cleaned. Utensils for cooking were sparse and hard to navigate the kitchen. It would be good if someone went in and organized dishes, pots, pans untensils and throw out the old. You can get some decent stuff at goodwill without spending a lot of money. A book inside the house telling you where things are, recommendations about the area and where the thermostat or little tips and tricks about the house would be great too. Overall we were satisfied .

Beautiful setting - dated accommodations
The house is in a great location and sunsets/moonsets over the lake are beautiful! There are 60 very steep, sandy steps down to the beach--hand railings accompany only about 8 of those steps. An alternative is to walk a couple blocks to the beach, which is easy. When we arrived, the sliding screen door on the back of the house was off, and leaning against the house, but we easily popped it back in place. The house is dated, and the carpeting exceptionally stained and dirty, but beds were comfortable, bedding was fresh, and bathrooms were clean. There are mice in the basement-we saw them the morning we left. The dropped basement ceiling is only 7' high, and the ceiling over the stairway leading to the basement is under 6' high, so don't recommend sleeping down there, but it was nice to have a washer and dryer in the basement. The door handle to the basement entrance was on the ground when we arrived but we were able to re-connect it, we just chose not to use that entrance door for the rest of our stay. Fenced back yard for the dogs was very handy, although a previous dog had dug a deep hole in the yard next to the deck which we avoided by putting one of the deck chairs over it.

Prime Location w/ Private Access to the Beach
Pros: The location of this property was absolutely perfect. You can walk down to the beach right from the backyard down a secluded staircase. The house is very spacious with more than enough rooms and beds available to accommodate our large family comfortably. Cons: The property did run rather warm due to there not being AC available in the unit. The lake view from the backyard is pretty obstructed by the large trees (maybe those could be trimmed down some in order to maximize the beautiful views). Every room in the house and communal living spaces has family photos hanging up. This could be a personal preference but sleeping in bedrooms with photos of family members on the walls made us feel a little uncomfortable. *(Personal preference).

Family birthday celebration
We had 6 adults and totally enjoyed the home, Frankfort, and most of all - Lake Michigan. Open floor plan was excellent. We cooked meals together and enjoyed the view. We took walks on the beach, shopped in town and had excellent dining options at local restaurants, deli and bakery. Fun and relaxing.

House on the Bluff
Spectacular views from this rental. My family enjoyed this large rental and our time in Frankfort. There was enough space for all of us. It was very clean upon arrival with all the necessary elements in place. There is an access path (with steps) down to the beautiful beach. The only negative would be about noise complaints from the neighbor. Two of us were sitting on the deck one night just chatting. A neighbor called the owners and complained about the noise. The deck faces the water and the neighbor was 3 doors down away from the water. It was very concerning that we had to monitor ourselves so much as to not disturb the neighbors. Besides that, our stay was great and the house fit our needs.

Lovely getaway with Lake Michigan views!
We enjoyed our stay at the property. Great spot for quick access to the beach. Although closest beach access was down a steep set of stairs, it was worth having a less crowded option for our family. Frankfort is a very short and easy paved walk with fun shops, marina, and dining out options (most places are capped out for the nights takeout by 3pm). The listing was similar to what we experienced. Sadly only 2 Adirondack chairs were available (or remain) and the grill never got up to temperature, but other amenities were sufficient for our group. Bedroom views overlooked beautiful Lake Michigan and lighthouses. We had a few concerns upon arrival that we addressed via text with the property manager easily. I know it's rarer up north, but just a heads up that this house does not have AC and can get quite hot and humid- only 1 box fan that worked and 1 table fan available. All bedrooms do have ceiling fans. Scattering of notes cautioning use of things like blinds were a bit unusual. The driveway can fit 2 cars in single file, but the garage is inaccessible. This would have been nice for loading/unloading. We appreciated having a washer/dryer access for washing towels after a few days. Overall, would consider staying here again.
