The lady that met me at the reception desk was very polite and friendly. Appreciate that. Now, the room itself could be improved. Perhaps it needs a renovation, or some cosmetic refreshment. The very first thing I felt when I entered was faint smoke smell. So despite the sign in the washroom that says that all type of smoking is prohibited I could tell someone was smoking. While it’s not hotel’s fault that people ignore the signs, I would expect the hotel to try to clean the room well enough so the next person/people coming enjoy the room they paid for. I also noticed that hotels stopped giving individual shampoos and soaps, and this one is not an exception. I have no idea what’s inside those bottles the hotel has now whereas before I knew that the shampoo bottle for example is new (sealed) and I’ll be the only one using it. There were quite a few small things that could be better, for example the hotel room had ground coffee sachets, but the coffee machine uses pods only, so there was no use for the complimentary ground coffee sachets? The few good things were the shuttle bus, TV, and the area was quiet. For a one night stay it’s not a bad option, but I’m sure with a little care it could improve by a lot.

I had a lovely and quiet dinner in the dining room. Pasta dish was excellent, a great glass of wine and staff made me feel welcome. When my family arrived from Australia they were treated very well, despite the hour.
