Nice location, cabin needs work
The location on the lake was great. Beautiful views from the cabin.
The cabin is in great need of repair. Many safety issues.
First, the walkway had cinderblocks as steps up to the decking. Our elderly family members required someone to assist them up the step. There was a large rock that also stuck up in the walk way so caution was required to avoid tripping.
Inside the cabin: Carpet on the main level was nothing short of disgusting. I vacuumed it twice and filled the canister with large amounts of dog hair. It is nearly thread bare and felt sticky. We had to leave our shoes on inside. The furniture is far too large for the space. There was very little room to walk around it. The tables and chairs in the eating space are also far too large and were very heavy to move.
The kitchen is small. No more than two can fit for preparing meals. There is no cabinet space to store groceries so they had to sit on the small table in the kitchen. The dishes were fine. Glassware was a hodge podge with only 4 wine glasses. Kitchen supplies were very basic. We did have to buy a serving/mixing bowl as there was only one.
Bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: Main level. Double bed with twin bunk. The upper bunk was basically unusable as the ladder was at the foot of the bed and it was pushed up against the wall. The furniture was too heavy to move.
Bedroom 2: Main level. Double bed. There is no dresser or closet in the room. We had to leave our luggage on the floor (which basically took up all the floor space) for the week. Also, there are no electrical outlets in the room. Not ideal as the occupant needed a CPAP.
Bedroom 3: Main level. Full bed with a twin bunk. We were able to access the bunk in this room. Again, there was a small dresser in the room but the drawers were full of pillows.
Bedroom 4: Lower level. Full bed. There is no closet and no dresser in the room. We had to put our luggage under the stairs and live out of that for the week.
Bedroom 5: Lower level. Full bed. Again, no dresser and no closet in the room. There is a large box built into the wall right above the bed. I think this contained some kind of mechanicals. When the water in the kitchen was turned on, it sounded like someone was hammering in that box.
Bathrooms: Bath 1 on the main level is functional but very dated. Bath 2 on the lower level is updated.
Huge gap in the lower level door. Owners stuffed a towel in the gap. Lots of bugs still got in.
Far too overpriced for what you get!
