I had to have 10 room keys because of them no longer working and every time I asked for a new one I was lectured on how to handle hotel room keys. Like what?

It is extremely noisy, especially early in the morning. Our room was right at the base of the stairs, across from the ice machine and close to the where the housekeepers work from. You could hear everything going on outside the room. The room itself was ok. Nothing spectacular. The location was ok...close enough to everything but could get a little sketchy at night. I won't stay here again due to the noise.

I was a little leery about booking a stay at Thunderbird Inn because it had that 60's look and the neighborhood did not strike me as the best. I was totally shocked at what a wonderful experience we had. I spent a lifetime in the hospitality industry and the operation was so professional and the rooms top notch. I have operated many old facilities and understand how difficult to make them nice even w/ renovations so I applaud the efforts and the staff was wonderful.

The room itself was pretty clean and staff were friendly. While being “pet friendly” the property is located across from the bus station so a lot of noise for nervous dogs. Also, quite a few homeless people and not the best area. First night there, several cop cars were right outside the hotel at an incident. They had a synthetic grass path for dogs but if you want real grass you have to use the median in between you and bus stop. Again, hotel itself was okay but wouldn’t recommend the area especially if you have kids or a woman traveling alone.

Great concept, but needs sound proofing
This is a really great place in concept, but the walls are paper thin making for a really rough night of no sleep if your neighbors decide to party and smoke in their non-smoking room. I always travel with a white noise machine, but even at full blast I couldn’t drown out the barrage of noise from the neighbors. I was even able to hear them pouring ice into their glasses and smell smoke coming through and under the door between our rooms. The people at the front desk were very nice, but there wasn’t much that could be done to fix things for a peaceful night of rest. The donuts and OJ in the morning were a welcome and much needed surge of sugar in the morning to help alleviate the terrible headache.
