Fantastic stay. Edward, the night agent provides top notch customer service. Perfect location with a Walgreens across the street. Small but very well appointed room and we had a lovely dressing area that was a fun surprise. Very charming and clean. Would absolutely stay again.

Great hotel! The location was convenient to see most attractions. Clean and made you feel welcome and safe from some of the "Nasties" of San Francisco. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the little amenities were a welcome touch too.

We have stayed in a few hotels in San Fran with our dogs and can’t believe we only just found the Cartwright! Right in Union Square, walking distance to so many sites, NO pet and NO resort fee.That mixed with its excellent location and the room itself which was clean and comfortable, it’s a win in our books! One thing to note about parking - it’s offsite but there is a deal with the hotel which makes it reasonable given it’s right in the city. $35 a night or $45 for oversized. We have a Ram 1500 which can be a tight squeeze in lots of garages but the one the hotel works with was great. The turns were wide and there are staff on every floor directing you where to go. It was a relief after having a bad experience trying to find parking on our last visit

Very comfortable stay
Very comfortable room. Pleasant staff, nice decor, super clean. Other reviewers explained how small the bathrooms are. My room was a double bed with a desk, office chair, reading Chair, closet, drawers, and plenty of light. I did not feel cramped at all. The bathroom was small, but it was fully funtional design, and the shower was spacious with a window and a view of the Skyline.

I'm sorry..not sorry but we loved this hotel from the moment we arrived the staff was very courteous and our room was clean and cozy and everyday after our sightseeing..we came back to a clean room..it was very quiet and relaxing..and in walking distance of transportation, eating and shopping.. when we come back we will be staying at The Cartwright Hotel for sure

Overall, my stay was very enjoyable. Room was comfortable, the only concern was how narrow the shower stall was and trying to navigate around it to get to the toilet. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Cleanliness was top-notch. Noise level was a bit problematic as there were people running and yelling outside of the hallway at late hours. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Area outside was a bit sketchy due to the homeless activity but the hotel itself was secure and safe.

The location of this hotel is amazing, Perfect to get around lots of restaurants lots of things to see. The room was very small, but with that said it had everything we needed in it. All in all, I would stay at the Cartwright again

The room is very small, and the bathroom even smaller. Which was fine. My main problem was that the room didn’t have a mini fridge so we couldn’t bring any leftovers from dining out back with us. I suggest getting a smaller desk and putting a mini fridge in each room
