I honestly think it wasn’t the right weekend to go. There was strikes in other hotels and it was so noisy. The noise kept me up and woke me up early. The rooms are small. It’s ideal for a couple.

The hotel was in a convenient walking area with lots of shops near by. Our only complaint was the bed sheets were stained. That was off putting. Otherwise, this hotel was great.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, even though my needs were minor (lock box at the desk for my passport, ice). Always greeted and made to feel like a valuable guest. The protests in the area made for a loud evening and morning, but thankfully stop between 10pm til 7am. My room was clean but small, which is fine as a solo traveler. Desk was available if you need to work on a computer, and the bed was comfortable. Both AC and an heater are available, as well as a fan. A cool historic hotel, and the fireplace in the lobby is nice to sit by on a chilly evening! Would definitely stay again.

Good value for money at this property. Beware parking is 40 dollars per night (but that’s the usual price around the area not that the hotel is making it more expensive than otherwise). Other than that, excellent place to stay in downtown San Francisco on budget. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean. Window view of a brick wall and long walk to nearest Bart station are downsides.
