Certainly different, very 'funky' hotel. Spotlessly clean from front door to rooms, bar, breakfast and lounge areas. Mainly great helpful staff, eager to please. Didn't realise the rooms would be so small, after staying in Washington Citizen M, which was between 3 4 times larger. Turns out it was a disability room we had been allocated in Washington DC... probably as I requested something a little special for my husbands surprise birthday trip, to DC and San Francisco . Washington possibly took pity on us, a couple in their mid 70s travelling for a birthday surprise!! I appreciate it was only 4 nights in both cities, but the larger room in Washington really spoiled our San Francisco experience as far as the hotel was concerned. However the room was an easy(ish) problem to negotiate, and I will specifically request a 'disability' room the next time I have the opportunity to stay at a Citizen M hotel 🇺🇸

My second stay at a CitizenM and I keep liking them the most for solo travel. Love the tech and everything is easy checking in and out. The common areas are great to chill outside your room and even easy to meet cool people. Staff were all friendly and security at the entrance always recognized me and opened the security door for me. This location is close to everything you would want and if things are a little further BART/Muni is right there and ride apps are super easy for pickup and drop off at the front door.

The feeling and look of the place is artsy and modern; it really pops. The doormen/and security (especially Tanveer) were alert, professional, yet very friendly. We loved the layout, cardkey room elevators, and the welcoming bar/lounge area. It's a place we will return to again (God willing).

We loved our stay at CitizenM in San Francisco. We were aware of the small size of the room, so we didn't had any other expectations. But there is enough space to put all your clothes in a drawer under the bed, so you can put the suitcases away. And then, it's super cozy and I love the interior in the whole hotel. The parking space next to the hotel is price wise okay-ish for San Francisco, so you don't really have an other option, and that's fine as well. The area felt safe and it was a good location to explore the city, we would definitely come back!

What isn’t there to like? I felt safe, welcomed and genuinely cared about! My husband fell while out on an excursion. I shared what happened with a sweet staff member and she jumped to make a perfect ice pack no questions except for “how else can I help”. The rooms were so cozy and inviting starting from the greetings from the tv and iPad to the colored lights! This is the FIRST hotel that truly means blackout blinds! Sleep uninterrupted guaranteed! Breakfast buffet offered foods and flavors for all palates. The common area was awesome! Tons of books to read, computers to share, tvs…Then there was the rooftop open to take in awesome views while sipping on a hot latte or chilled cocktail. We will be back for sure! I truly left a piece of “my heart in San Francisco”
