The property has an unbeatable location, within 3-5 minutes from the Santa Monica Pier. However the hotel is small and at least my room was very small, especially the bathroom. The staff was helpful.

The room doesn’t have AC and we got the top floor - very hot. Even with fans on and the window open. The room and bathroom were good. The bed was comfortable. The best thing is how close it is to Union Square and all the shopping. If you come here get a bottom floor, heat rises.

Highly Recommend this Historic Hotel
This hotel is wonderful; great location, clean, friendly staff. The only downside was the elevators are a bit slow and small, but considering this is a historic hotel expanding the elevators would be difficult. I’m glad the hotel owners has kept its original ambiance.

Hotel has excellent service. It definitely qualifies as a historic hotel with interesting features which are a plus or minus depending on how you view it. I think they are interesting and worth the slight inconvenience over modern amenities. Also, the water pressure is way better than most modern hotels. No fault of the hotel, but it was quite noisy due to strikes at a nearby hotel.

Check-in was a delight since we were warmly greeted and also given some helpful tips about area restaurants as well as information regarding hotel amenities that were available for us. Our initial impression was that it was different in a positive way. Felt quaint & cozy. After dinner and light touring of the area and various stores, we could hardly wait to get back for a night of popcorn & movie time. So, comfortable and a welcome rest for us after our cruise. Thankful to all the hotel staff for their kind hospitality.

Great boutique hotel in a perfect location!
Great location, very friendly staff, free coffee and cookies and apples. Hotel is old but well maintained. Beds are only doubles and very soft so you tend to roll into the middle which makes it a bit squishy! But everything else is fantastic!

Fantastic location
Friendly, clean and well located hotel. We were greeted personally by the staff and really felt welcomed. Coffee, water and cookies in the lobby were appreciated. The hotel had an agreement with the parking garage across the street and the price was better than any other downtown hotel.
