This is a lovely hotel and the staff are wonderfully gracious. Our room was nicely appointed. I loved the bath salts! My only caution would be to say don’t go during a heat wave if you need air conditioning- that’s not part of the classic SF experience.

Location is great. Bathrooms are super small and there is no A/C. If you go during the summer or early fall the room feels warm. The ceiling fan didn’t work well even with the highest setting and the small fan also didn’t help much.

Need to focus on cleanliness in general, carpets in the lobby looks more than 100 year old, dirty, torn corners. AC not working, fan was slow, not fully cleaned, few plugs and away from the bed.

Overall, everything was good. Clean, good location, very pleasant staff and service. Main issue for me was sound isolation. My room shared a door (probably for joining rooms if needed) and i could literally hear word by word a conversation and then at night all the pleasure people had in the next room.

Nice, clean, quiet hotel. The staff (front desk, concierge, housekeeping) is great - very helpful. They have a pillow menu with about 10 different kinds of pillows. It was fun to try a few.
