Lovely hotel
Love hotel halfway between the airport and downtown. The room itself was super comfy (with a lovely bathtub!) and the concierge was very helpful. The breakfast was your typical nice hotel breakfast (eggs, bacon, cold cuts, etc), plus a sampling of exotic meats (e.g. smoked whale). It’s about a half hour walk to downtown if you take the shopping street (just down the road and up to the nearest light and to the right), or maybe 40 min if you take the shore and sculpture walk (which has gorgeous views) — down the road in the other direction. Easy for taxis to get to as well.

My stay at Hotel Reykjavik Grand was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I reached out to the hotel prior to my arrival, I was impressed by their responsiveness and professionalism. If your flight lands well before the standard check-in time, I highly recommend booking the room for the prior night to ensure a seamless arrival experience. The staff were consistently courteous, knowledgeable, and eager to assist. Olga, in particular, went above and beyond in providing helpful advice and support. For tourists, this is a hotel you can trust to arrange excursions without hidden fees or inflated prices. Their recommendations were spot on, and I appreciated their honesty. Insider tip: take advantage of the shuttle services whenever possible – it’s a significant cost-saver (i.e Blue Lagoon, KEF), and you’re just a 10-minute taxi ride from downtown Reykjavik. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, making for a relaxing stay. One of the most charming touches was Dulla, the friendly neighborhood cat who frequently lounges in the hotel lobby and adds a warm, welcoming vibe. The on-site restaurant is another highlight, offering delicious local cuisine that should not be missed. Overall, Hotel Reykjavik Grand delivered a truly memorable experience. I was sad to leave but look forward to returning soon. For anyone visiting Reykjavik, this hotel comes highly recommended for its impeccable service, thoughtful amenities, and commitment to guest satisfaction.

The hotel is beautiful and staffs are amazing especially Victoria. She went above and beyond! She was kind, accommodating, and went out of her way. She was absolutely wonderful. Staff is very friendly. At the moment we arrived, we were given all the details and information of the amenities and activities in the hotel. The room we got was impressive and we received all accommodations. Parking is close to the entrance and the food is very good.
