Very friendly front end staff. Breakfast crew are all awesome!. Restaurant had good food. Just know the area is packed with great restaurants everywhere. The hotel is in a great location. 3 blocks away from stop number 9 which is where you get pizza cleanup for all excursions. Companies not allowed to pick you up directly from hotel for excursions. This hotel is not high end but definitely still really nice!!

Great place to stay in the heart of Reykjavik. Excellent staff and service. Will stay there again. The restaurant that appears to be part of the hotel but isn't serves excellent food. Best hotel breakfast I've ever had!

This was among the best hotels I have stayed at. The service and facilities were top quality. It is situated in a quieter part of the downtown area, and we had no problems with noise at night. It was walking distance to everything in the city we did, and we were easily able to dip in and out during the day. The rooms were clean and nicely designed. The shelving was very helpful, and we had plenty of room to relax. The comfortable beds and blackout curtains ensured we slept well. The breakfast was excellent. Above many hotel offerings in variety and quality. Lots of hot and cold dish options, pastries, juices, espresso, cheeses, salad, cereal, yogurt, fruits, and more. The in-hotel restaurant was also delicious, with great cocktails and a daily Happy Hour for discounted drinks. The staff was also top notch. They held our bags when we arrived before check-in. They answered all of our questions. The room was always spotlessly cleaned. We always felt truly welcome. All in all, a wonderful experience. We would stay here again next time we are in Reykjavik.

The only place to stay
The rooms are roomy with extremely comfortable beds (even the pull out couch) The staff could not be nicer and,as a nice touch, they give you a cell phone to use for local calls and texts. Finally, you can not beat the location. It’s right on the main shopping street and walking distance from pretty much everything in Reykjavík.

The front desk staff at the Alda were terrific. Each person who helped us was extremely helpful and successfully helped us figure out how to fit in all of the experiences we wanted. (Note: we travel independently and had not had an opportunity to book experiences ahead). Our only complaint is that our room was quite small and it was difficult to find a place to store our luggage so that it was not underfoot.
