Was so excited to stay here. It’s mine and my parties second time in New York. We knew staying in time square would have its ups and downs but we checked in at 4 the woman who helped us check in was probably the only sweet one there and I wasn’t able to get her name unfortunately. But when I checked into my room there was this weird black plaque in the bathtub but because we check in later at 4 we had reservations and things to do at 6 so I had no time to go downstairs and inform them of this weird black plaque that looked like mold in my opinion. I took pictures of it before we left and we went to our reservations. When I came back to the hotel to inform them of the state of our bathroom and why we would be uncomfortable. I was served with the worst attitude and wasn’t able to explain that I wasn’t looking for a better or another room the problem would have been solved if someone came in and clean and they recognized that they had a short coming. Instead I was told in a rude manner why I didn’t come before. And that this is such an inconvenience for him because what if there wasn’t more rooms. He had said in a very rude way that the next time I stay in a hotel it’s either I come earlier or don’t come at all with the problem. I am a younger girl so I don’t know if he thinks I’ve never stayed at a hotel before and I told him that I understand how it can be an inconvenience for him but I’m the guest and for me to pick up and move all our luggage’s is just as inconvenient.

Average checking process: unfortunately the room would be only available at 4:00 pm and with me arriving in NY at 6:00 am ( overnight flight ), it was quite difficult not to have access to the room, even a little earlier than 4:00. My nephew who arrived later that day from Italy and shared the room with me, purchased a sweat shirt 2 days later at the Met's shop. The sweat shirt disappeared from the room and we felt that the floor manager and the front desk couldn't care less about this serious problem. I would not recommend this place

Beds &location - Great Everything else - Not Good

I'll start with the positives - the location is great if wanting to be in the heart of NYC and good access to subway stations, Central Park, theatres and Times Square. Can't fault it! The beds are wonderful - so comfortable. Less positive.. The hotel is in need of an update, all decor feels very 80s, very brown and dark There was a lot of refurb going on in the lobby area which meant it was noisy, dirty and all on show - areas were not cordoned off. The Starbucks / bar was not a great environment. As a bar it is absolutely soulless and depression.. Your staff working behind the counter during the 'breakfast' service were lovely but the system is so bad. One person serving with a queue of more than a dozen people at times. And it's self serve coffee! The hotel is very busy - lots of transient guests, big groups and events so common areas are packed with people and it is loud This also means that the lifts get very congested during peak hours - I waited more than 10 minutes on my floor to get a lift down to the lobby and same again to get back up. Left luggage is charged at $6 dollars per bag per 24 hours which I have never experienced at a hotel before Check in staff were very functional but lacked any personal touches or interest. I know they have a lot of guests to process but it would be nice to see a smile once in a while or even some eye contact I would not stay here again and I would not recommend it to anyone

Not an exaggeration but this was one of my worst hotel stays. It little took over 2 hours to check in. No systems in place to try and help the customer experience. The front line employees were excellent, but you can tell management is rhe ones lacking in this area which is why i gave staff & service any stars. We also had soldier baths for 2 days because the shower heads was completely black from grind and mold. Went and bought Lysol disinfectant and a scrubbing brush with gloves to clean it. Showed house cleaner the photos i took of how it looked previously which she was so appauld and apologetic, whuch you can tell she was sincere.
