Great Waterpark, other areas need improvement
This is our 3rd year in a row at Royalton and the kids still love it! We had some hiccups along the way with our room that could have been avoided and made our stay (us parents) better. Sometimes the details make the difference. For example, our phone wasn't working so we couldn't call in to report that the light in the shower wasn't working. We were missing a towel the first day, missing water, etc. Everything got resolved except for the phone but not after insisting. The food at the buffet was great the first 2 days then greatly declined the following 2 days. There was a visible difference in quality and selection, so maybe the usual staff was away... We were excited to know that they had a pickleball court and brought our paddles. Unfortunately, the courts were not well-maintained, they had cracks, holes, and uneven surface, and the space behind the lines was limited making it difficult to play. There was also a pile of garbage in the corner and some garbage spread out...it wouldn't take much to make it better. Overall it was a good stay mainly because of the waterpark. The kids spent most of the day enjoying the slides.

Trolley comes every 30 minutes to take you from one side to the other. And you’re even lucky if you find a seat on it. Had Diamond services, and a butler is suppose to pick you up from lobby and walk you to room, they did not meet us. Dennis, our butler, did end up being amazing and thoughtful and helped me surprise my mom with a cake at dinner. They are painting the water park, during open hours, while kids are running around. You can smell the paint fumes. They have no elevators, so if you are staying on the third floor. Good luck. The beach is a walk or long wait for trolley to the main royalton. The buffet at splash, you can tell the chefs did not care, their “French toast” was just toasted bread. As if you went to the main royalton, their French toast and food was nicer presentation and so much better. All in all, i would just spend more money on the main resort than the splash.

I like that it was kid friendly. Entertainment was good. The service at the restaurants were poor.The rooms were dated. The bathrooms in particular were poorly maintained. I'll have to think twice about returning to Royalton splash.

Water park and hotel room were great for the kids. Unfortunately interactions with the pizza and special rice chefs/staff were not pleasant in the Selections buffet. Unnecessary comments and attitudes were given. Both my husband and I felt disrespected. There were other insists but no need to go into detail. Thankfully there were some pleasant staff such as our butler. He was informative and kind. I've been to Punta Cana more than five times and never left with a sour taste.

I did not like that on 2021 after staying here for two weeks the 3rd time, I was promised an upgrade on my next visit and never got it. Instead upon my arrival at the front desk a lady with a sarcastic attitude told me you only receive this on 5th visit. We were sent to a room with mold in the bathroom, no phone service, loose door knob in the bathroom, broken shower handle, no phone service for 2 weeks. I filed a complaint there and still had mold in bathroom and no phone service for 2 weeks. Only the shower was replaced after reporting it twice. Despite all of this, our maid Rosa Maria provided excellent service and sprayed Clorox to bathroom on a daily basis. I sat outside the buffet at Royalton Punta Cana resort where some family members where staying g and was approached by three people including a lady named Zunilda that I could not eat at their buffet. When I responded by saying that I knew their rules and regulations, a staff person apologized and provide me with a bottle of Baileys. I got up and left the bottle on the table. I observed that when you speak English you are treated differently. If you decide to stay here make sure you request for Diamond Club to enjoy food, service and amenities. Otherwise, will not recommend.

We stay with our family for a week. We had a lot of fun, we enjoyed the shower they have at night. The hotel is really kids friendly thay do a lot of activities for kids.

The staff was very unfriendly, no eye contact or smiles. The food selection was poor and did not have any taste. For those of us who do not eat beef or pork, there was only once when chicken was available. The buffet at the Selections restaurant was horrible tasting and the staff was the worse. The resort is very old and the pools were outdated including the dirty tiles around the pool. Took over 3 hours get room service and no one ever answers when you call front desk, room service or guest services. I had to walk down to the lobby for everything. When I spoke to the Managers and Supervisors on duty about my concerns, I only got a "sorry", nothing else, not even a solution to the issues and concerns raised. From 8am, the maids in the hallway shouts from each end of the hallway to each other while cleaning. For the money paid, this was a major disappointment and I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND staying at this resort. This should not be called a resort, more like a Days Inn.
