Great quiet atmosphere!
This will definitely be a go to from now on for us! The atmosphere was perfect so quiet, hardly any traffic. If that’s what your looking for. Beach access literally within walking distance maybe 2 minutes. Super easy beach access. I went with 2 kids age 7 and 13, 4 adults. The only thing was there are a lot of stairs so if you have trouble with stairs you’ll definitely want the room on the first floor as soon as you walk in. The only two things I feel like could be fixed are 1. The dryer sometimes it would take us 2-3 times of turning on the dryer to get our clothes dry. 2. The step ladder to the pool had a broken step so be careful. Other than those 2 things everything else was perfect for us and we enjoyed our stay very much!!!

Not worth the price!
I booked this far in advance for a scalloping excursion, a new tradition of recent years that I was now sharing with a different set of friends. In the past, I first stayed in an RV park and later in a cottage in Port St Joe, so this time I wanted to try something on the cape. Aside from location, our criteria included a house that could accommodate 10-12 people comfortably. Shortly before our trip we checked the VRBO website to confirm some details but became worried when confronted with recent negative reviews. After contacting the property management company with my concerns, I was assured that maintenance & housekeeping would be informed. Upon arriving I was relieved to see the property in better shape than described by recent guests. It was clean and there would be no issues with pests, non-working TVs, or clogged tubs. The kitchen was fully stocked with wares to suit our needs, including grilling tools. However, one of the main attractions was the pool and it was filthy and unusable. We initially blamed the recent rain for this misfortune, but the pump didn’t seem to be running and the pool area looked neglected. In fact, the broken tiles mentioned by a previous guest were still left out on a table. The general appearance of the outdoor furniture was sad and uninviting. The bedroom off of the kitchen had a sagging bed in need of being replaced. The garage room was unappealing enough without its own bathroom, but the musty odor and loud window unit made it even more so. While trying to enjoy my cup of coffee from the lookout point on the top floor, the enchanting sounds of cicadas were interrupted by nearby construction, before 8 a.m. nonetheless. Despite these shortcomings, I’m left most disappointed by the customer service. Because we had never stayed out this way before and were relatively new to scalloping, I emailed the management company with questions about scalloping and boat rentals, thinking they would be knowledgeable of such a popular activity for the season. While they were quick to answer my initial email about concerns over the house, this one went unanswered. I would’ve been more accepting had they simply responded that they couldn’t be of assistance, but ignoring communication from paying customers is unacceptable. How sad that Google and locals were more helpful than this company to whom we paid good money. While we enjoyed the remote location and beach access, we’ll spend our hard-earned dollars elsewhere next year.

Potential but Disappointed
I would like to start off by saying how pleased we were with many aspects of the rental property. We enjoyed being able to look out from our deck areas to see the ocean in the morning. On the 4th of July, we were able to see fireworks in the area with ease from the decks. The house smelled very clean and welcoming upon arrival. The garage has room for all of our belongings, such as grills, coolers, and beach chairs. Regarding the kitchen, the utensils were sanitary and abundant for dining. This house is adequate enough space for a large group of people, without feeling crowded. The pool is great after a long day at the beach. Sadly, along with the many enjoyments of this property there were quite a few concerns. Prior to our arrival we saw the previous guests posted a horrible review listing all the shortcoming and flaws of Cape Oasis. Everything from TV’s not working, dirty rooms, and clogged tubs, just to name a few issues. I contacted the property managers about these issues and they reassured me that all these issues were blown out of proportion and that any issues that were true would be corrected prior to our arrival except the tiles in the pool. Upon our arrival we noted the garbage cans were over flowing with trash under the deck, the yard was knee high with weeds /tall grass and debris. The house smelled clean but needs improvement there were food wrappers behind the night stand and toys under the chair as well as food in the couches, the baseboards are filthy, the furniture is broken, and some more tiles fell off the wall in the pool. The tub wouldn’t drain, two master bedroom TV’s were not working , there were flying ants, spiders in the house and bats on the deck. The one shower window had no covering and people could clearly see in when my daughter was in there. The black mold on the ac vents and the drain field leaking into the front yard was horrible to smell,so I contacted the management company to let them know what was happening with the rental. On top of the many issues,They are building a house right next door and work from sunrise to sunset, blocking parts of our rentals driveway. The rental company apologized for the trouble and tried to fix some of the problems but these should have been addressed before we arrived. This is not a rental I would recommend because it has so many problems. Not the way we wanted to spend our vacation and feel the management company should have taken better care of this property and us.

Cape Oasis
Short walk to the beach was nice. Dirty furniture and carpet, kitchen had terrible pots/pans and no containers with lids. 5th bedroom in garage has a window unit and is totally detached from house. Garage door didn’t work and remained unlocked for anyone to open. Steps steps and more steps- do not recommend for elderly. The pool was filthy and we were unable to use until the very last day of our trip. Pool company had to come 3 times, cable company because only 1 tv in the house worked and they couldn’t even fix that during our stay. Limited places to eat in the area. We will not return to this area and definitely not this property

Do Not Rent This Property!
The house, pool and exterior needed to be cleaned! There was a missing pool tile with green stuff growing in its place. Only 1 television worked. Most of the outdoor furniture was damaged. The air vents had mildew stains. And, there was a sewer backup in the downstairs bath! Could be a good rental if throughly cleaned and maintenance issues addressed. Not pleased at all.

Enjoyed our stay! Only negative was noise from construction on lot next door. Easy beach access and loved having a pool! Would definitely stay again once construction completed!

Family Vacation
We loved Cape San Blas. The area is beautiful. The house was a bit overpriced for the lack of updates. Washer and dryer needed replaced. The washer worked, but the dryer ran forever and clothes still weren’t dry. Carpet was old and worn. The downstairs bedroom carpet had exposed tack strips that would poke the bottom of your foot. Excellent location and the pool area was nice. You will also need charcoal, because the gas grill was nasty. Charcoal one was not much better.

Large home, perfect for big groups, with great views of the gulf, bay, and cape. Gorgeous sunsets, and well-stocked kitchen. Bring Mr Coffee filters with you, if you’re a coffee person.

The size of the house was perfect for and the layout was great with all the bedrooms. Proximity to the beach was also great as well, even with 4 young kids!

Great escape from quarantine
We came down to Cape San Blas to get away from crowds and enjoy a vacation. This was a fantastic place to do this. I love the location of this house wedged between the ocean and the bay, with the deck at tree level and the crow’s nest for a perfect view at sunset. It is also an easy walk to the general store, ice cream, and the shrimp company. The house was great for our group and we have already talked about hoping to return. I would just say one word of caution if you are larger group that the 5th bedroom is basically a large storage closet in the garage separate from the rest of the house with no adjoining bathroom. Our group did not require it, so it was no problem for us, but might for some people who read reviews in the future.
