Tracy and Taylor provided excellent service. They were so helpful and patient. The maintenance man was very nice as well. I always recommend Cary House to friends who are traveling in the area. I will continue to stay at Cary House whenever I am in Northern California.

Our room was not cleaned properly. The shower curtains had filth on them and the comforter had stains and holes. I like the ambiance of the place but they need to replace the comforters and clean the rooms properly. Not sure if I would stay again.

This place is a historic hotel so it does not have many of the amenities as most hotel so if you like old this is a place for you.

Lovely hotel
Everything was great except the refrigerator didn't work, and although there was a mini kitchen, there were no utensils or plates. There was only one kitchen thand towel. No paper towels or napkins. The room smelled strongly of disinfectant and isopropyl alcohol.

The location is amazing, and the elevator is the best! The bed and furniture were super uncomfortable, though. I still think it’s the best place to stay in Placerville because of its location and old charm.

Quirky and Convenient
We always try to stay at the Carey when we are in Placerville. It is a unique and historical place that we want to support and at the same time enjoy! Many eating and shopping opportunities within easy walking distance.

Historic venue. Rooms werent finished to historic time frame. 3 day stay wifi never worked . Requsted housekeeping after second night and was not completed. AC was noisy and had little to no control. I will not stay here again . Check out the lobby and history albums but dont stay overnight stay.

I had a horrible (that’s putting it lightly) experience with the front desk employee today. My room was booked a month prior. I showed up today close to 3pm to be told very nonchalantly Taylor did not have time to call me prior, but my room had extensive damage and I could no longer stay there. I asked what I’m supposed to do and she said she called the Best Western and they had one room left. She had time to call them though, just not me who showed up with nowhere to stay. Horrible in so many ways. I asked her what if I didn’t want to stay at Best Western (3 exits down the road) and she said she didn’t know what to tell me and that was my option. You’ve read this far, so if you’re jaw isn’t open from the utter lack of any good customer service and even care on her part how inconvenienced I was, then I don’t know what to say. I never raised my voice. What I did was let her know how unacceptable that was and Taylor had a classic tantrum and yelled at me to leave for harassment. She called 911, I met the officer outside and explained what happened inside. His response was finding out there was no room at 3pm checkin was wrong. I will never recommend this hotel, but I will let every one I know about this experience. Absolutely horrible with the weakest way to even help accommodate me.
