I stayed five nights at the Lava Tree Tropical Inn and I would have stayed much longer if I could have had! Breakfast was served on the patio in front of coconut trees, ananas plants, tropical flowers and more. Irene made a point in serving us an abondant breakfast every morning with homemade bread, local honey, homemade yogurt, tropical fruits from her garden, omelettes made with her hens' eggs, granola, homemade tropical fruit juice and more.
The room was just lovely, calm, airy and relaxing and the B&B itself is just a stone throw from the Lava Tree State Monument Park which is just beautiful.
From there, you have easy and quick access to the hot pond and tidepools and the Maku'u farmers' market on Sunday morning or uncle Robert on Wednesday night.
If you're up for some lava viewing you're also 20 min away from Kalapana and the parking lot where the adventure begins!
What I'm trying to say is that Irene has been a fantastic host, in a fantastic house hidden in the middle of a big lush garden, a short trip away from all the best activities you can find on Big Island!
