I booked and paid for a room with a balcony and received a confirmation from Expedia for this room. When I arrived I was told that Expedia did not book a room with a balcony even though my itinerary showed I did. In order to get the room I requested, I needed to pay an additional fee meaning I paid twice for the upgrade. The resort told me they often have this problem with Expedia but did not seem to think it was their problem to resolve. This attitude was surprising to me. The staff did not seem to have the ability to make a common sense judgement to deviate from what their computer screen said despite all the documentation I presented.
