FIX AND INFORM
There were times when the shower in the master bathroom only emitted cold water. The water spigot in the tubs would not turn completely off in bathroom in the hallway. I had trouble with the lockbox. Maybe add more specific directions. It would have been helpful to know that MV transit bus was available at the intersection of the street and County Road.

Home was very outdated and drab.
The property was clean however it was very outdated. Additionally, the furniture was in disrepair, lightbulbs were missing, toilets needed repair as they constantly ran, carpet was dirty/stained, The dark paneling & shutters throughout made the home seem very drab.

Wilderness for front yard
Grounds were overgrown with weeds. Called to complain all week. Landscaper didn’t come until Saturday, the day before checkout. House needs power washing. There was ample entertainment space.

The House that couldn't be the Island Get Away
Positives: Good location, accessible, and tons of space to actually entertain Small Issues: Furniture in family room is worn down, no curtain nor drain cover in master bedroom, grill doesn't seem to be well maintained, deck chairs are questionable Major Issues: The whole lawn is unkept. There was a huge thorny weed on the front walkway that was overgrown that I had to cut down using a kitchen knife to safely get into the house. The house has a spider issues as there were five cobwebs in the back bathroom, and at least thee types of spiders were seen in the house. When packing to leave, my wife noticed a spider in her bag, and our daughter was bitten by something at night which we believe was a spider. Since the house is an older house, it really needs a deep clean more often (shampooing carpets, etc.) because this is an older house which hasn't been updated. I don't know when it was done, but the place was dusty when we arrived and the curtains in the main bedroom need to be replaced. (I know one shower head had mold). Last, but not least the smoke alarm wasn't even put up nor had a battery. Beyond that it was dated and didn't have a carbon monoxide detector. I say all of this because it leads me to question the owner, management company, and VRBO. Consumers can deal with dated and minimal amenities, but this property screams a lack of quality control and could be seen as a safety hazard. If there are no standards being set, then should anyone be charged a premium price?

Oaks bluff vacation house.
The house was clean and spacious. The TV in the living room did not work only the one in the bathroom and we could only choose one thing to watch and not change it because the remote control did not work correctly and only way to choose your channel was to record whatever show you were looking for. Not good!. The shower was either too hot or not enough water pressure. Cabinets were very tall and I had trouble reaching the dinnerware. Other than that it was great place and very relaxing. Great location. Walking distance to private beach and near downtown oaks bluff. I would definitely come back!

Do not stay here, property is not safe
A homeless man entered through a sliding glass door at 1:30 am. He was familiar with the property and had obviously spent nights there before. It was a terrifying experience for our family. The property has no security measures in place. Additionally, maintenance has been neglected, many amenities did not work or were in poor condition. This was a total disappointment and an unsafe situation that could have ended tragically.

Dated, remote
This property is quite dated, with older furniture and finishes (paint was constantly peeling off the coffee table, old carpeting, etc.). There was also an unpleasant odor coming from the sink through our whole stay. Important to note that the property is not really walkable to Oak Bluffs or any beaches without walking on very busy roads (riding bikes to Oak Bluffs was a pretty easy trip). Overall, there are better options on MV for this price point.

Pictures tell you everything you need to know.
Seems like management is responding to most of the earlier complaints as we had a decent stay. However, if you can’t tell that this is not the a fancy place from the pictures then that’s on you - It’s dated but is still a nice home overall. The deck is the main attraction of the house for sure, you'll want to be out there most of the time weather permitting. There are nice windows to keep the main house nice and cool as well. Pros: - The grill worked fine and was full of propane. - plenty of space for 4 people to hang out comfortably - the kitchen was serviceable and everything worked fine. - contrary to an earlier review, there was a full coffee pot in the house..... - location between vineyard haven and oak bluffs is fantastic. - Privacy of property is excellent, neighbors won't bother you at all. Some things that bothered us: - Knives in the kitchen were so dull it was difficult to cut meat (sounds like nitpicking but it was an issue especially because we grilled a lot). maybe get a couple of sharp knives or a sharpener at least. - Very bad smell in the kitchen, we thought it could be the septic because it smelled like it was coming through the floor or from the sewage - we could never quite pinpoint it. - Screen door which is the main access to the porch is broken (screeching and constantly falling off the track). You will be using this door a lot as the deck is the main selling point of the house, it got really annoying after a day or two. - Second bedroom bed is way too small and is only really comfortable for a single person or a young 20 something couple. Completely unacceptable for an older couple or people that need any type of space. - Definitely not a good place for a family as the TV's were limited and remotes broken / missing. - Sink in the master bedroom was streaming water even when turned completely off Overall we enjoyed our time and the house served its purpose for us. The weather was very nice and it was great being outside on the deck.

Dated home in need of maintenance and upgrades.
There were a few nice things about this house (nice deck on back, master bed was comfy) but overall we were very disappointed. Some of the issues: we booked through a company called vacasa. I called 2 days before to ask questions, and never got an answer or a call back- ever. Good thing entering the home was ok. Here are some of the things we encountered: (1) bathroom light (long fluorescent tube) flashed like a strobe light, and never came on steady. Handyman came and called next day, cannot get a replacement, so light could not be fixed, (2) carpets look original, dirty, stained, so we kept our shoes on throughout the house (3) hornet nests on patio, (4) rusty chairs on patio, (5) old single serve coffee pot only - geez, for $25 one could find a full sized coffee maker, (6) no kitchen towels, (7) no maps, area info, or departure instructions in the home, (8) no TV remote in the bedroom, (9) water stain on ceiling in bedroom, (10) bedroom overhead light didn’t work, (11) neither did outdoor front light until I changed the lightbulb myself, (12) cobwebs in corners, (13) cups cracked so juice leaked through bottom onto counter, (14) only 3 wine glasses, (15) terribly moldy/mildewed shower curtain in master bath— such an easy thing to watch for but disgusting for a guest to find, (16) greasy pan on top of the fridge. This didn’t ruin our few days on the island (we ate out only) but was an embarrassment for me as I hosted our stay. Even a dated home could be clean & updated with a few things for little money, I feel like I wasted money and could have stayed in town. The bus stop is a bit of a walk which is a bit daunting if you’re walking home after dark. I am sorry I spent $$ renting this house and will discuss with the property management company. Will not consider staying here again.

Awful
I would not recommend this property to anyone. The kitchen was awful. It was not air conditioned. The linoleum has holes in it. It was just terrible.

Not a good experience
We got to this rental house for a long booked and awaited weekend; the toilet in the bathroom was broken when we arrived. Management co came and fixed problem. We came back from the beach the next day to find the toilet overflowing into the bathrub -- brown water overflowed right out into the hallway and into the bedrooms. Turns out septic system had overflowed. ,We spent hours cleaning water up off the floor and then more hours waiting while cesspool was dug up and temporary fix put in on our last full day on the Vineyard. Management co did what they could but we were left with sopping wet rugs that smelled for our last night of our weekend, ruined sneakers and shoes. All in all, a really disappointing experience.
