wonderful view
The view was great. Overall the house was good. The cleanliness of the house left some to be desired. There were cob webs in the kitchen above the stove and in the downstairs bathroom. What bothered us the most was that my daughter found a pill on the floor in the back upstairs bedroom and also a half pill on the floor in the little sunroom. We had both a 4 year old with us and a dog. Also I didn't know that we were supposed to text you when we checked out so we left at 9.45 and I didn't see your text until 11:00 when my phone was done charging.

Newport water front property
We liked the property for the view, and that we could walk to town. It was not as clean as what we expected. Their was dirt and dust under fireplace. Stains on coffee table, and stain on carpet in family room, which looks like dog stain. Carpets need to be cleaned. The bed downstairs was not comfortable, and we had one older person that could not use the stairs. We have stayed in much nicer places for less money.

Plenty of space and fantastic views. Overall very clean. The only thing needed: more screens for windows so we could let in more refreshing breezes without the bugs.

Amazing House, Vacasa Not So Much
I am going to give two different ratings, one for the house (5 star) and one for the property management company (Vacasa, 3 star). Overall this house is one of the best places we have stayed on the Oregon Coast. The view is fantastic, you can sit and stare at the boats in the bay for hours without getting bored. Nice kitchen and dining room table. Beds were comfortable and lots of space. The only negatives: you have to go through the middle bedroom to get to the master bedroom, but for our purposes this was a non issue. In addition, some of the locks on the windows had the handle broken off. We had to use a screwdriver to open the lock and open those windows. A minor inconvenience at most. I can't say the same for the property management company. When we got there the key was not in the lockbox and they had not given us the combination for the backup lockbox on the property. Had to call them, did get sorted out. There was no soap for the dishwasher, we had to go buy our own. Many of the windows had large cobwebs outside them which could have been easily removed by opening the windows. There was a nail sticking out of the molding (3 feet above the ground) at the bottom of the stairway. One of our family caught a piece of clothing on that nail and it pulled a 6 inch piece of molding off the wall (no injury though). After we left we got an email from Vacasa about a "damage claim" they were investigating with the insinuation that we had caused it or knew something about it. Turned out to be a broken piece of plastic at the bottom of one of the window blinds which had probably been there long before we stayed. Of course, we hadn't inspected every tiny piece of plastic when we checked in but we didn't break it. We found it galling that they were even bringing up this tiny defect, especially because there were locks on some of the windows with handles broken off which had never been repaired. PS If you book directly through Vacasa it will be cheaper. We unknowingly ended up paying a service fee to both Vrbo and Vacasa.

Great House!
This was a very nice house, comfortable and well equipped for mom, dad, two small children and the grandparents. The house does sleep 10, but only with each bed or futon holding two people. You have to walk through one "bedroom" to get to the other. For our size group, it was perfect. The house is located within walking distamce of local shops and restaurants, along with the boast docks and sea lions. Beautiful view from the outside deck. We would definitely stay here again.

A Family Home
This house was perfect for family time. We loved the view, porch, quick walk to attractions and great dining, ping pong and plenty of places to sleep. If you love to cook this house is for you. There are actually sharp knives, plenty of mixing and baking dishes, and high-end pots and pans. We were there to celebrate a birthday and one of the gifts was a cookbook so we made the most of the kitchen. We loved that this rental had paper towels, extra toilet paper, sponges, laundry detergent, a bit of oil and salt and pepper in the cabinets. It feels good to be in the home. The home is obviously loved by the owner and the picture of their fishing boat and the free published book by the "Fisherman's Wife" was touching. This good feeling extended to the handyman who arrived in 15 minutes to re-sent the surge breaker in the sauna and the gardener who made sure we knew what a wonderful family owned the home. Being a family home the room set up is a little weird for couple privacy. So one of the rooms is more like a hallway with a bathroom that the largest and quietest room has to walk through to get to their room. The downstairs bedroom is a pull out bed, but comfortable. This is a great place to spend a week. For those of us working remotely the deck and the widow's porch on the second floor were great places to get away for a few hours. Thanks for sharing this wonderful home.
