BEWARE It’s dingy, run down, gross and old. The photos are altered and look nothing like the disgusting room we were in. We left after bugs and cobwebs were found. No air conditioning. Camping in a tent would be a better experience.
Beautiful Lodge, clean, quiet and situated in the National Park. We really enjoyed our time and will stay there again, if we travel to Big Sur. Thank you
Beautiful stay in the redwoods. The cabins were roomy and comfortable and we got great sleep. Close access to trails. Would not recommend dining at the lodge.
Absolutely beautiful and amazing to wake up IN Pfeiffer state park, but perfect for those who don't camp like me :). I had a wonderful birthday here, the place is beautiful, and the hikes are close, fun and rewarding. Will definitely be back.
By the way there is no internet available! You can access internet at the library but not on this property. It's a great place to disconnect.

Liked: Staff & service
the cabins are old and smelled of very strong wood fire smoke. There was a small amount of mold under vanity. Battery missing in smoke detector. The cabins need some maintenance of the windows, blinds, and fireplaces and back deck. We expect for the price of $400. things would be a bit better maintained. The location was perfect for our needs and we enjoyed our stay, and the staff were all very pleasant.
The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean, we had adequate towels and coffee and tea for the a.m. was good. My grandchildren loved the pool.
The fireplaces are very old and do not appear to function well as there was heavy smoke stains up the front of the stone work and on the ceiling, it looks like they do not draft correctly to prevent smoke from entering the living space, which is very dangerous. We did not use the fireplace as it seamed to be unsafe.
Service was not so great. Was ignored several times. But pastries in the coffee bar were great!! Coffee was good too. Nice convenient access to hiking/walking trails. Stayed in a cabin, no AC but did offer a fan. No t.v. or wifi and phone signal was very poor. But its a nice cozy place if you want to unplug and just enjoy nature.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The facility is aged, no tv, and no WiFi. Truly rustic. It is convenient for the sight.
There was no AC and it was hot during the days. We reported to the front desk that the unit that appeared to be ancient AC next to the window was not working. The attendant at front desk who came off condescending told me I was mistaken and I was probably taking about about the heater. I responded that a heater wouldn’t be attached to a window. We found a portable AC is one of the closets that we were thankfully able to set up. Also how was this property not able to have WiFi when some of the other nearby resorts offered WiFi. We were told to drive a mile away to the library if we wanted WiFi connection. Lastly, the bathtub decided to backflow black liquid after we showered which we also notified the front desk upon checkout.
