The lights were dim, one of the lights weren’t working, the door for our room had a gap under it, enough for something to crawl underneath, and the door didn’t properly lock. When I look under the table underneath by the bed, there was gum underneath it, the staff was cool and friendly, and the bedding and everything else was fine. Only thing we didn’t try was the breakfast, which was on us for getting up late.

Right off the 1 fwy @ Marina State Beach. Good breakfast included. Room was basic but clean and had hot water, fridge and microwave. Overall, great hotel to crash at night after a day in Monterey Bay

Water leaked thru the bathroom ceiling. We asked for a new room but the hotel was full so the manager said we have to wait until the next day. On day 2, the morning desk clerk had no idea that we had a problem. After we explained the situation he said he would have a new room ready for us when we returned from spending a day out and about. We called that afternoon to make sure a room was ready. It was not. The evening desk clerk said she was not informed about the problem. She was properly apologetic, but had to give us an inferior room that was farther from the parking lot. We found a pair of underwear behind the door. Otherwise pretty clean tho and a great location near the beach.

1) we were directed to the wrong direction of where our room is at and had to walked around the property to try to find our room... only to find out that our room is not in working order and had to switched to another room. :( 2) We booked a room with 2 queens for 3 people and they only provided towels for 2 person. Went to lobby to request for an extra set of tolietries only to be removed when the housekeeping staff came in the next day to replace them with only 2 set of towels again. (and only one bottle of shampoo/conditioner) as the shampoo that is stuck to the bathroom wall is empty. 3) other than that, the motel is in a lovely beautiful quiet beach with not much facilities for food and beverage around us.

Evening staff were lovely - able to quickly provide us with extra towels and toiletries. Renovation was welcomed and generally well done. Unfortunately, the bathroom requires an update as the shower head fell off several times while in use and very slow drainage of water in bathtub. Food was mediocre, even by Best Western standards. Only hot food were biscuits and gravy. Overall, good value to rest your head for a night or two, maximum.
