When I walked to the check-in counter, I noticed a strong smell. I could not identify it, but it was present at check out as well. For those who are sensitive to smells, it could bother. Again, in the room I noticed a smell which I could not identify. It was different than the one at the counter and not as strong. I stopped noticing it after a few minutes. The room was clean and comfortable (honestly, better than I expected). The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was pathetic, even for a continental breakfast. There were only three choices of packaged pastries, and all of the choices were small in size. Seriously, the muffins were one bite. Only one kind of fruit. If breakfast is important to you, do not come here. If you are just looking for an inexpensive, comfortable night, this place should work for you.

The star ratings for this hotel are skewed. I'm sure they are false reviews generated by the family living on-site. The four-star rating for this hotel can’t be valid. This was by far the most disgusting and dirty hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I was traveling from Arizona to Ohio due to a family death, and I brought my two pets with me. Hotel choices if you have pets are very limited if you are on a fixed income. While I wasn’t expecting the nicest hotel, I was expecting something clean. Putting aside the fact that the hotel was in huge disrepair, it was absolutely filthy. I paid $83.25 for this room. I had a legitimate service animal certification for both pets (letter) which the clerk asked to see. I was okay to show it, but it is illegal to ask about the disability associated with service animals. Also, I requested an ADA room, which was not provided. I was traveling alone. Apparently, traveling alone as a woman is suspect. I was followed around the outside of the hotel by the owner (owner’s son?) to the ice room and subsequently watched every move unloading my belongings. Was very uncomfortable. This was nothing compared to the disgusting state of the room. There were disgusting stains over all the bedding. Towels were very yellow and torn.Room was filthy. The ice bucket and all things that would be white were colored yellow. I don’t care how the hotel replies. I will be reporting your hotel to the Clark County (Illinois) health department. Hoping it was just a bad employee, but....

Lighting outside the room made it very hard to sleep. The front desk/cleaner at the time kicked me out of my room 4 hours before checkout time and kept following me around demanding a tip-even walking me to the atm when I told him I didn't have cash! I had to sneak over to my car while he wasn't looking to leave....Already trying to figure out if I could get a refund for this horrible experience!
