Below Average Property

The place was dirty, requested a deep clean but nobody ever came to do that. Floors were filthy. Mold in master bath and I am sure other areas as I am allergic to mold. The toilets were broke but a guy came and rigged them to work. Still needs attention. Kitchen was adequate for cooking. Back of property is nice. Being on a canal was great.There is someone else living on the property but never saw them. Kinda freaked out my wife. For the money I will look elsewhere next time.

Great Location!

The location is probably the best you can get on Marathon. Fast access to the Atlantic by sea and fast access to grocery stores, gas stations, restaurant's, etc. by land. As some of the other reviews stated the place could use a bit of updating but overall it is very good, this is the Keys after all. It has what you need for a great fishing or diving stay. Bait freezer downstairs, nice pool and patio area and plenty of dockage. We will book here again.

We had a week long stay -- during August, so SUPER hot!!! But the house worked lovely for us... the pool and amenities all were great! Absolutely perfect location. We would def stay again!

60th Birthday/fishing trip

When we arrived at the house there was a car in the drive plugged into a battery charger and a garbage bag of cleaning supplies on the dining room table, so we thought maybe someone was there (it was weird because there is a very large room on the ground level that was locked), also the pool was a disaster! The pool cover was on and had debris and large animal or bird poop on it. we pulled the cover back and it was filthy, there had been a little storm earlier that day but a large part was like silty dirt that just sat on the steps and pool bottom and then stirred back into the water when disturbed, also lots debris and a broken waterfall that was full of green algae/stinky water. The only thing to clean the pool with was a little net for like a kiddie pool, it had large holes in it and did not even reach the bottom so you would have to get in the pool to clean it. I called Vacasa (the property management co.) and they said they would address the issues right away! Nobody came that day or the next day, so late the 2nd night I got in the pool with the tiny holy net and for an hour and a half cleaned it myself! The house was advertised as having an ice maker, if you fish this is a BIG deal, it was a tiny one in the fridge! there is no bathroom downstairs so if your in the pool, you must go up 15 stairs, walk the length of house, go in, then walk to other end of house! It had great dock, nice tiki hut and covered area but uncomfortable mattresses, & terrible management!

We enjoyed our stay but the home was a bit tired.

During our two week stay, we had three service calls to address a leaky dish washer, a clothes washer with a clogged drain that overflowed and a constantly running toilet with a faulty stopper. The dish washer problem had been going on for some time resulting in a badly damaged kitchen floor that was masked by a floor mat.

Great Location for boating/fishing

We were happy with it. The kitchen was equipped with what we needed to cook and everything worked as expected. The back yard is spacious and the palms are beautiful. The water access is also amazing. In a matter of minutes you can get to blue water or catch the sunset.

7 Day Stay

Overall the rental was as described. The rental was spacious enough to accommodate our party of six. The beds were comparable. Kitchen was well-equipped and provided what we needed to prepare meals. The air conditioner worked great. The pool and patio were very nice and the gas grill worked great. As with any rental or home, there can be problems. In our case one of the two toilets backed up. I placed a call to the VBRO, they took our information and said someone would be contacting you. Within a short time a maintenance worker dropped by and took care of the problem. We were all very impressed. I do not consider this a negative in any way. Most rentals we have stayed stayed at, we did not experience the following concerns: 1. There were only 3 dishwashing tabs to do the dishes with. There were six of us for seven days. 2. There were no garbage bags for the kitchen trash can. We had to purchase some. 3. The florescent lamp in the master bedroom closet would not stay on, it flickered on and off. 4. It would've been nice if there was a TV in each of the bedrooms or at least in the master bedroom. 5. Also would've been nice if there were a box of tissues in one of the two bathrooms. 6. We were asked to put a load of towels in the washer before we left. It would've been nice if they left some laundry detergent. 7. The shower floor for the master bedroom was very slippery. That bathroom shower needs a mat on the floor or nonskid strips on the floor of the shower. Also the bathtub in the other bathroom, I was told that it's floor was slippery too. Again, overall we were satisfied with our rental and the big question is would we stay there again, the answer is yes.

The accommodations were over priced for what’s offered. Due to the weather we were on the property a good portion of the time. Folks a crossed the water way paid less for much better accommodations. I probably would not book this property again or recommend it to other folks.

Property was very clean. Pool, tiki huts, and back area was very nice. It was just as in the pics. I would make a suggestion to have a tv in each bedroom. I also would suggest better quality mattresses. More pans for the oven. And the wine rack did not get cold.

Repairs badly needed

The house needs professional renovations! The plumbing needs help; shower won't drain and toilets barely flush. The floors are worn out. The kitchen is minimally equipped. Carpet in bedrooms is filthy. Only 1 TV. Pool light does not work. There were 2 kayaks but no way to put them in or out of the water due to the high seawall. There was no trash pickup and the lockbox was broken. The photos on the website are so different we had a hard time finding the house. attempted to call about the trash and was on hold for so long I hung up. Sadly disappointed with this experience.

Great time!

We go to fish, and serious about it. While the channel could be better marked, after first arriving, it was no issue. The house was clean and comfy, the pool was perfect. I'd recommend this property to anyone who can climb stairs. A lockable rod locker/closet would be great, but my calves are in great shape from carting equipment upstairs.

3 week stay

Great location and clean property. Very easy access to ocean. Owner needs to provide more of the little things that makes the stay easier for travelers. Only had 2 wash clothes and hand towels, no dish clothes or towels, no cutting board, no large frying pans, one bottle of hand soap for all bathrooms, etc. Slider door very hard to open and needs to be repaired. Overall the stay was very nice and we enjoyed the property very much. Would definately book here again.

The house was exactly as promised but the ant problem was an issue. Also, no wash clothes or king size sheets for the king size bed. It would have been great if some coordinates were provided. Would I stay there again...Absolutely

Very nice canal front front

We did like the house . Lovely yard & pool. The pool was dirty & cloudy brown when we arrived. We called the property manager & the pool man arrived the our second day around dinner. He & his assistant worked on it quite a while & by the following morning it started to clear. It has been fine ever since that Sunday.

Great location!

The location is great and the home is nice. Really enjoyed the backyard and dock area. The house is older and could use some up dates, but the air conditioning is great when you need it and the shower water is hot! Had a little trouble on check in day with only a few towels and the cleaning crew forgetting to leave basic cleaning supplies. But the next day the towels and supplies arrived! The canal is perfect for boating as you are so close to the Ocean. Plenty of parking in the driveway and the backyard is completely fenced in! We really enjoyed our stay and would book it again. Definitely value for your money in my opinion.
