We had a week stay and were not very pleased. When we arrived we didn’t know where the office was, then when we finally found it and got our room there was nothing but trash and extremely hot in the room, it was definitely not somewhere I wanted to lay my head at. We then were placed into another room that was better compared to the first one but the beds were extremely itchy, I had to go buy a broom and disinfectant wipes because the floors were so dirty. The water in the showers etc smelled sooo bad on the last night we were there I was picking up the room and getting things together so it was a easy clean for the next day and I was moving towels and there were baby ANTS in the towels! The pools are freezing and nasty. I will not be spending my time here ever again, I would not recommend this motel to anyone! You are better off in your car!

Very very dirty as soon as we walked in, essentiallythe floors. Our daughter walked for only a few minutes and here feet were crazy black. We were very confused, then figured out all our feet were black from the dirty floor. We asked management to clean our room the next day. They never got to it. They only cleaned it the day before we had to leave from our 3 night stay. Very not professional.

Other than the place just needs a good cleaning, its not that bad. Staff just needs to take a little bit more time to do a thorough cleaning.

Horrible service!

We were told our room would be ready at 4. And we got there at that time and it was not. We had to wait till 7pm and mess up our afternoon plans bc we couldn’t get into our rooms.. But in the meantime we pulled up around 6 to see if they were done yet and there was someone on a bike dealing to our cleaners. We were pissed. No wonder it took them so long to clean our rooms. On top of that their pool was green and gross, as well as the “beach” was not clean and it was overgrown. I give this place a 1 out of 5 bc atleast when the rooms were clean the room looked good.

We stayed in updated room facing the water. The rooms was nice, but beds need to be updated. It was clean. The plumbing not so great for the toilet. View was gorgeous.

Enjoyable Stay

We enjoyed our stay. Front desk clerks were very friendly and welcoming. Room was newly redone for the most part but, still had some “old” outdated equipment. Air conditioner worked well but fan was very noisy, maybe needed a little oil. Beds were clean and comfortable. Beach area was easily accessible. Appreciated views of the bridge and the island in the distance. Lot’s of people but, relatively quiet. Could be excellent accommodations just needs a little more attention to detail. Over all an enjoyable stay.

Mackinaw city stay

Nice view of the mackinaw bridge. Gal at the desk was very friendly, and helpful. Rooms are a little small but fairly nice. Overall it was a nice stay.

After reading the reviews we were a little nervous, but as soon as we arrived the front desk staff was amazing, and they even quickly accommodated for our puppy and a last minute additional night stay! The rooms were newly renovated, and very spacious! We even got a little gift for staying with them! Totally recommend!

A good vacation

First off, I would recommend. Here's a breakdown. Pros: -Good rates compared to other hotels. -Great location. It was right on the water and looking out our sliding door was the bridge, freighters and ferries. -Room was remodeled. It had a fridge with freezer, a coffee maker and a microwave as well. -It was quiet. I could hear the waves from my room too. -The beds and pillows were comfortable. Also there were many pillows with two levels of firmness. -Staff was nice and helpful. -Perks like games to borrow, and a fire pit right outside our sliding door, were nice. Cons: -Pool seemed to need some attention and the hot tub was not hot. -Some small things: Some epoxy or polyurethane looked to be dripped on the tub during remodel. The screen door had some small rips. The bathroom door was hard to close. Overall, I was glad we booked the place. I wanted to be right on the water with a nice beach. I didn't care about having a pool or complementary breakfast. I cared more about having a nice comfortable room, with the perks I needed and wanted. This place had those things.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights over the 4th of July weekend. We absoluty loved it. We got moved to the Sunrise motel, we got a 2nd story room with a balcony that overlooked lake Huron and the bridge. It was beautiful! There were few minor things but the good outweighed the bad! We can't wait to come back next year!
