Perfect Spot
We came in for a family weekend. The house was a perfect location, near our other family members and on Echo Valley property. The house had everything we needed, including a beautiful frozen lake and snow for sledding. We would highly recommend a stay at this house.

Great place for family week
The setup was beautiful on this small no-wake lake. Beach was sandy but pretty small considering there were so many kayaks, a canoe, and a paddle boat all in the small area. The shallow water around the dock made for great playing for the young kids. And the fishing was fun for those who wanted to try their luck , their were lots of small fish. There aren't any chairs by the beach, you may want to bring your own. The house is full of all the towels you could possibly need, including beach towels. The kitchen is well-stocked with lots of plates and most of what we needed for the week, we did buy foil 9x13 pans for some cooking. To the owners: I would suggest more rugs by the back door and downstairs. It's impossible to come in from the beach or hot tub and not be wet (and sandy). The front door lock and the back door lock were very difficult to lock, you really have to giggle the door to get just the right place for the lock to turn. The grill is a nice Weber natural gas grill but is so rusted inside, replacement parts are easy to obtain, I suggest you do so. Also, the railroad ties acting as a sidewalk from parking area to house are rotting out. There are two of them that are downright dangerous. Also, almost impossible to roll a suitcase over. One last suggestion, add a plastic pan with water near the hot tub that can be used to rinse off feet. People naturally went from the beach to the hot tub and it was difficult to do that without carrying sand in.

Great Stay Near Gull Lake View Golf Courses
Stayed with a group a friends for a golf trip where we played the Gull Lake View courses. House was only 10 to 15 minutes away from most of the courses, Bedford Valley was about 20 minutes away. Had everything we needed for our stay, included great spaces to relax while we weren't at the course. A couple guys even got some fishing and canoeing in.

This home was perfect for our group of 4 women. Quiet. Lovely. The home was very comfortable with all the amenities. The lake was warm enough so that even though we had rainy cool weather, swimming was great.

Great Family Retreat on Lake
Every inch of the house was very clean which is always our highest priority so we were very pleased with the quality of cleaning that was done prior to our arrival. Abundant provisions for almost anything you could need. Examples: Towels for swimming, TP, Paper towels etc...Nice beach area, good dock fishing, Kayaks and PFD's. Even had two refrigerators. The owner is very friendly and professional. He responded very quickly to a couple of questions we had during our stay. We would definitely go for another visit.

We had an amazing time at Drifting Dunes. Fourteen family members age 1-65. Plenty of room for everyone. Great kitchen, plenty of kitchen appliances and utensils. Upper and lower patio space. The lake is clean, great for swimming and fishing. Our host was quick to respond. Must be able to do steps or walk down a grass yard. The park next door was great.

Great view to wake up to...
Property was private and had plenty of space. Plenty of dishes, glasses, etc., bathroom towels and beach towels for a group of 12. Enjoyed kayaks and paddle boat. Swim platform (floating raft) was enjoyable although lake level was about 3-5' there, some mushy lake bottom. Rich was a pleasure to work with and was very responsive on questions. Thanks.

Lakeside Retreat amid Swans
Drifting Dunes lake house is a welcome refuge from the labors of ordinary life. Fantastic view, lively bird watching, and spacious, well-appointed Accommodations. A group of medievalists stayed here during the International Medieval Congress at Kalamazoo. There was much talk about Chaucer and Gower on the luxurious lake. Rent it. You won’t regret your decision to do so.

Lovely Lake Getaway for Family Time
Everytime we think we've found our favorite VRBO we find a better one! This is a WONDERFUL house. It has the perfect amount of games and activities for rainy or cold days, a beautiful lake view with wildlife all around, a park next door with a playground, and of course the actual lake activities. Kayaking with the swans all around was definitely a highlight! The hot tub was delightful. The owners right away showed up when we notifies them of a faucet started dripping and had it fixed right away. Very great communication and attention to detail by these wonderful hosts. Thank you so much! We hope we can come back soon!

I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want other people to know about this PERFECT vacation spot. What an absolutely wonderful place. With two living areas and a big kitchen and that view! I didn't know you could hear geese wings flapping againt the water! I cannot wait to come back.

Perfect Michigan Lake vacation
Rich is the ultimate host and responded instantly to several minor domestic issues- even delivering a new coffee pot in record time! A high chair and pack and play made coming with a toddler easy. Our multigenerational family with 3 working adults found the WiFi and cottage set up and location to be ideal. The beach was accessible, sandy, and warm; a short path through the woods leads to a park with swings, playground, disc golf. 1.5 miles west was a beautiful nature trail to walk or run. We ventured to Bell’s patio in K’zoo, Farmers’ Market, and Galesburg’s Rockhound Rock Shop. The lake is surprisingly quiet and wooded, herons and swans made more noise than humans. We used the kayaks and pedal boat, swam and snorkeled. The hot tub was declared “best VRBO tub ever.” If tobaggan run at Echo Valley is open, we’d love to all return in winter! Thanks, Rich!

Great Family Vacation!
We really enjoyed our stay at this Michigan lake house. My husband and I and our two grown sons and their families had a great time. My grandchildren ages, 3, 5, 8 and 11 spent countless hours on the beach and in the shallow water. This is a peaceful no-wake lake great for families will children. The house includes multiple kayaks, a canoe and a paddle boat that my grandchildren and sons really enjoyed. The hot tub was a big hit in the evening. This is a very good fishing lake. We were able to catch some pretty good size fish at the end of the dock or sitting on the raft. We shared many great family memories during our weeks stay. The house was very clean upon our arrival, there were plenty of bath and beach towels available and the kitchen was well equipped for big family meal. The owners, Rich and Marcie, responded immediately to any questions I had.

Kalamazoo Wedding
This was the ideal place for a family group who came from different parts of the world to spend a week around a wedding in Kalamazoo. Family members from their twenties to their sixties were able to enjoy the lovely, peaceful lake, kayaking, canoeing, pedal-boating and swimming. When we were not on the lake, we were sitting on the deck overlooking the lake, cooking on the barbecue, or just enjoying the lovely house. The weather was so beautiful we only opened one of the many games that had been left for us. The house had every convenience thoughtfully laid on for us, and instructions were very helpful.

New Yorkers in the mitten
I rented the house with my husband and our daughter Charlotte (22 months). My father stayed with us as well, and we had visits from friends with kids age 4-10. Everyone had an amazing time. The house is set up to entertain all ages. The lake is shallow all the way out to the dock and kids at all swimming levels could enjoy it including my daughter in her swim vest. The old kids used the paddle boats and my husband and father enjoyed the kayaks. The house was equipped with everything needed to host big meals, which we were able to do several times. It was safe to walk all the way around the house and even our little one got along fine. The downstairs is separated by a door that is spring loaded, which means it close automatically even when the older kids were running around and I never feared the little one would fall down the stairs. There are no sharp edges and breakable things at low level which means we could relax as she explored. The house was so clean. We had an absolutely wonderful time and are already planning to come back. It really made us appreciate that #puremichigan life style.

Great location, home and owners
Wonderful place to stay. Great location, very private and spacious home with plenty of room for a larger group. A very nice surprise was that the owner provided just about every necessity needed for your stay including all kitchen appliances, utensils, and bathroom products. There were also plenty of water toys to enjoy in the lake as well. I must also complement the super property owner Rich and his wife. They were very prompt in answering any questions we had during our stay and we even had a minor issue with the refrigerator but they showed up at the home within 15 minutes of contacting them so they could address the issue in person and make sure we were happy. Great hosts and location and I would highly recommend staying here.
