Disliked: Cleanliness
Nope, nope, nope
Location: Across from a gas station and ATM on a busy road. Upon arrival the back bedroom window was opened. The other windows were unlocked throughout- I was concerned for our safety. I added blankets over windows for privacy. The house was dirty and the bedroom furniture was rickety. I bought cleaning wipes to wipe layers of dust off of the bedroom furniture. The bedding was mismatched, dated, cheap, and the mattresses were uncomfortable. The couches were filthy.
The “futon” double bed in the 3rd bedroom was a college dorm sized lay down couch that is so worn and lumpy that it isn’t even remotely sleep-able.
The kitchen wasn’t stocked and the paper and starter products were not provided although they were listed, neither was there a Kcup maker although I really thought that it was also listed. The drip coffee pot was dirty enough to need a thorough cleaning to the inside and to the pot. Honestly, I could go on and on with my disappointment.
On the plus side- the WiFi was reliable, easy to access, and the TVs worked fine. There were some games and puzzles for the kids/family. The dining furniture was sturdy and would have been good to eat at if I could have cooked a meal.
Overall, we stayed because it was the only available listing during ETSU Family weekend post Helene that set. I trusted the reviews stating it was “clean” despite my hesitation. I made a mistake and should have increased my budget. I would never choose to stay at this rental again.
