Loved the view of the Tetons from the property. Very close to the national park. Also loved that a small part of our purchase supported protecting land. It's definitely a resort from another era, but we had no issues. We stayed in the bottom half of the Osprey House. We had upstairs neighbors, but sound was muffled enough that we barely noticed them. The master bedroom bed was very comfortable. The twin beds were not as comfortable. Loved having a kitchen, full fridge, and a living room area. Well worth the extra cost per night. We dined at the Whetstone for dinner one evening before they closed for the season. The service was amazing. Food was very good - nice variety of choices. Would stay again.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. There are 2 restaurants on location and both served excellent food and had great service. Beautiful atmosphere and amenities were appropriate for the area and time of year.

My only criticism for the Hatchet Resort is about the hospitality. The person working the front desk during our check-in was so incredibly impolite and bad-mannered. He treated my sister and I with sarcasm and, instead of greeting us when we walked in, his first comment to us was “Is there any information you think you should tell me?” No hi. No greeting. Nothing. He continued to be curt with us throughout our checking in.
Do better Hatchet Resort. We enjoyed the food at both restaurants and thought the serving staff was lovely, but the bad experience with the front desk tainted our experience and because of this, not only will my family and I never go back but we have advised a family friend against booking with Hatchet.
My only negative comment on this place was the gentleman who checked us in Thursday seemed to be having a hard day. I felt I was inconvenience. He was working on a computer and didn't want to be interrupted. Everyone else there was excellent. The restaurants were nice. Some body straightened our room during the day. This never happens anymore. The place did seem expensive. You get what you pay for.
We loved The Hatchet Resort. All staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, cozy and made from the local forests. I loved the history book telling about the resort wildlife and surrounding area’s history. Also was located close to the Tetons and Yellowstone entrance.

Not great. Lack of friendliness permitted the atmosphere, by both the owner and in the restaurant.

This is a hostile and it should be listed that way. Nice place but people need to know
Disappointed that there was no microwave at the reception area for customer use. The staff member sounded offended when asked about the availability if a microwave
The lodge was beautiful and convenient for accessing the National Parks. The room was charming and authentic. Additionally, the restaurants on property were very convenient and had good food. The couple things that were lacking in the room was a luggage rack for accessing clothes and they did not have Kleenex.
Parking was easy. WiFi was fast. Front office staff was friendly. For the price, an in room refrigerator and microwave would be nice along with included breakfast. Appreciated the rustic decor. More electrical outlets would be nice.
Hatchet Resort was a great place to stay. An older motel type of setting that provided everything we needed. The Hatchet Resort restaurant cook knows how to cook a wondbreakfast. Each item on our plates were perfectly made. I recommended that they go on Diner, Drive-ins and Dives it was so good!
The Hatchet Resort was excellent. The resort was almost inside the park. The restaurant had amazing food and the staff remembered my name each time I came in. I do wish that they had a fridge and microwave in the room.

They told us they overbooked our room 4 hours before check in so we had nowhere to stay in Yellowstone last minute. There was no service in the parks so we could not book anything new. We ended up staying the second night and the room was incredibly small. You cannot control your own temperature in the room and the heat was blasting. The vents must have never been cleaned because I woke up with a runny nose and a cough. Does not matter who you talk to on the phone, they’re all incredibly rude. Do not stay here. Restaurant was great. Come here to eat. Then leave immediately!!!!
The room was very cozy. People who work in restaurant for breakfast and dinner were very friendly. We felt like we are all family. It was very pleasant stay and very peaceful. The location was very convenient, 20-30 minutes to Grand Teton Park and 45 min to Jackson hole. I would definitely go back to Hatchet Resort!!
