Great location No frills abode
I was traveling with my 90 year old mother so proximity to the beach was paramount. It was perfect for the location also quick to walk or bike to Publix and a few restaurants I would have liked more attention to details like cutlery and kitchen supplies A sponge, two garbage bags, two dish washer pods and two washing machine pods were also provided We used none as the washer dryer were not operating ( we were offered compensation and new units to arrive upon our departure) Dishes needed to be washed at each meal to have clean for next so no use for dishwasher Grill worked and was easy to use No functional beach chairs provided Plenty of towels, beach and bath Finally cleaning crew could definitely pay more attention to every corner in each room Yuck The ups outweighed the negatives if location is more important than amenities

Clean but old
Property is old and needs updating and some paint. Back door is clear glass with no privacy. We had to cover glass with black garbage bags since there were no blinds or curtains. Bathroom needs updated. Dirt between wall and washer/dryer.

Perfect little place on the beach
It was an economical location right on the beach. After reading all the past reviews looks like the issues were addressed. All the appliances worked well. A/c was nice and cool. Water was always hot as needed. The mattresses seemed to be in new condition. Nothing in the cupboards except plate ware so you’ll need to bring the essentials. There are stores and restaurants within walking distance.

Location the only positive
So much about this unit needs attention...master bed with a small coverlet across part of it instead of a bedspread; water running in bathroom sink splashing all over and making the floor wet (only stopped when we shut off cold water supply underneath); empty ice trays that we figured out had cracks (only partially explaining the dirty freezer floor covered in a sheet of ice), dishwasher that was hard to open and not secured to cabinetry (had to hold in place or it would fall forward when racks were pulled out); screen on back door flapping in the wind; dirty handprint on the wall; kitchen chairs with a sticky finish that we were only comfortable using if covered with towels; two TVs that we couldn't get to work even after hooking up the HDMI cable to the one on the wall and trying the various remotes (including one with sticky residue of duct tape and a missing battery cover); tiny stickers on floors and other places; an ironing board but no iron; welcome notebook with no useful information except trash pickup days (though garbage bins outside were never actually emptied). Received a text from Vacasa before we got there asking us to rate cleanliness. Gave them a 3 and replied with photos and details of issues we identified as soon as we had arrived (late evening). As we discovered other issues the next day, messaged them again. Never received any response until text on checkout day to say they hoped we enjoyed our stay. We could hear the ocean waves from the back patio and

The Sunset experience.
Excellent rental right on the beach with beautiful sunsets. Property could use a few updates but can be overlooked due to location. Stayed for two weeks, had excellent weather. We did experience red tide and lost a few beach days, but it gave us time to explore the area. Would definitely return.

Great Location on the Gulf but over-priced and in need of maintenance/ better management
My husband and I along with 2 young adult children just finished our stay. The positive: It’s on a beautiful Gulf-side beach location with fancy houses going up by it. Close to everything as well and was clean with a couple of notable exceptions. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the beach and AMI.. The beach cottage is actually 2 units that are next to each other. It’s cute but in need of an overhaul including better local vacation rental management with excessive service fees charged for cleaning/local Vacasa property management, it was not worth the money that we spent in comparison to others. Know that I have rented via VBRO many times and always had great success with rentals, less so this time. Here are some details: -the unit is much smaller than it appears. There is no way that it could sleep 6. One could not pull out the sofabed and still get in the front door and there was no extra bedding. -The tiny hot water heater is in a kitchen base cabinet and runs out after even 1 quick shower. We had 4 people so a lot of cold showers when we wanted to go somewhere at the same time. -the fridge is tiny with missing side drawers that made it difficult to store items. -missing essential item in kitchen like can opener that we had to purchase. -the bathroom has rust and peeling paint by the shower and chipped paint vanity. The walls need to be repainted throughout especially the master bedroom and bathroom.. The queen mattress needs to be replaced; the twin beds are fine. Issues with Vacasa rental property management: Vacasa had incorrect and conflicting information about wifi access that was a big deal bc my son and I had to work for a part of the time. Our rental neighbor couldn’t even get in to their unit initially bc of being provided the wrong code. Vacasa also had sent instructions about pool access when there was none to both units. /Poor local support. Vacasa has a 24/7 offshore support center even when one calls the “local”number during business hours. It was frustrating after many attempts dealing with wifi access issue that we resolved ourselves and provided default network info back to Vacasa. A local rep stopped by for a service call (not from us)and learned that the pre rental inspection hadn’t been properly done-(e.g. no new air filter and air vent caked w/heavy dust). To her credit, she took pics. & tried to help In current state, I do not recommend.

Mother daughter vacation
I stayed here with my 2 adult daughters. First the code for the door didn’t work and it took us about 15 minutes with the people on the phone to finally open a lock box with an actual key to use in tv door. The place is much smaller then it looks in the pictures. It was not as clean as it should have been. The cable and Wi-Fi was out Saturday till Tuesday at 4, they did compensate us for that. We had 3 wash clothes for 3 people for the whole week. We asked for more and they brought us 3 more, so we went to the dollar tree and bought some. 1 of the twin beds was very squeaky every time you moved at all it would wake you up. The management people on the phone and the 2 guys that came to fix the cable were very nice!

Great beach access
Small beach house was fine for two adults and a small dog. Problems with the keyless entry that was not fixed until Thursday. Mattresses and frying pans need replacement. More lighting in living area would be nice. The water heater is very small and does not provide enough warm water for one shower. There were no hangers in the closets.

While the house is small, and the beds aren't the best, it's more than made up for by the location and its gorgeous backyard. It's near everything on the island, and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Great beachfront property
Nice small 2 bedroom duplex. Great for families. On ocean, was great for watching sunsets. House had covered screened patio, propane gas grill, and 2 umbrellas and beach chairs for Lou going on beach. Beds were comfortable. It is a small duplex, but your only in it to sleep lol. Highly recommend and will use again

Right on the beach!
This small duplex was perfect for my husband and me, along with our golden retriever. We specifically looked for beachfront and dog friendly. We had an enjoyable and restful time. There was a lovely screened porch and also a spacious outside area for eating and “hanging out” with the dog. The location was perfect - right on the beach and also close to groceries, drugstore, and places to eat. On the downside, the queen mattress was not that comfortable and some of the kitchen supplies were old and not quite working 100 %.. On the up-side, the management is very responsive and eager to do what they can to handle any difficulties. I would recommend this place for 2 people with a dog. Beach front location with privacy and grass and sand instead of concrete was the deciding factor for us.

Love the set up and location. The beds ARE HORRIBLE! The queen bed you lie in a dip.. there are 2 dips... husband unable to sleep more than one night. went to the twin beds.. every time you moved it sounded like a cardboard box cracking... was better than the queen. We were not aware this was a duplex but was completely ok with that.. never heard anything from the other side. We had communication with VACASA.. they were prompt with answers.

Great location, NO FRILLS
Location was perfect. When we arrived, the garbage can outside was over capacity. There is a wasp nest directly above the front door. Beds and furniture are extremely uncomfortable, but we weren't in the house too often. Believe it's a bit overpriced for the size of house it is. Whole interior is only a tad over 600sf. Picture says it will accommodate 4. You'd literally have to be 4 midgets. Best thing going for this house is the direct beach access...

Small home efficiently laid out. Its proximity to the beach is its greatest attribute. Shops just around the block too. Kitchen had apartment-size appliances. Property manager quickly addressed issues. Yes we would stay here again. No deadbolts on doors though.

Great proximity to the beach (but Red Tide algal bloom ruined that)
Honestly, the house was fine and the proximity to the beach was amazing. The beach itself was wide and sandy and fairly clean, except: The RED TIDE came to Anna Maria Island for our entire stay, so the hundreds of dead fish and lung irritation made it so that we couldn't actually use the beach, or even the screened in patio :( As for the actual house, it was adequate. There weren't a lot of kitchen things to cook with, which was a little frustrating. And this isn't necessary, but there weren't very many "beach things," like umbrellas or sand toys, and no bored games either. Like I said, not necessary but I've stayed at other beach properties with those things, and it makes it nicer. They did provide beach towels (and of course bathroom towels) and some toiletries, so that was good. All in all, probably a 4-star if not for the dead fish, which is not this property's fault.
