ATTENTION, ATTENTION !!! The hotel charge extra for parking $14, besides regular hotel charge. For me was surprised. Room was ok, clean and spacious.

Wonderful place well worth the fee!!
After a disappointing stay on the previous night in a different facility, I was happy to see what an amazing place Grand River Hotel was! Clean, beautifully appointed building with friendly staff who desired to help. This is a 5 star facility which is less expensive than other less desirable places. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again the next time I am in the area.

Pros: We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub and our room was nice. We ended up getting the cot for free after I complained about the beds being smaller than advertised. Convenient location. Cons: It took awhile to get checked in and then our keys didn’t work for the room and the pool area so we had to go back to get that taken care of. We were told there was a $15 parking fee which I didn’t know about so we ended up not paying the fee and parking off site. Breakfast is also for a fee, but I knew that in advance and we brought instant oatmeal to eat in our room. Also the beds looked to be double beds and when I asked to confirm that they were queens, because that is what I booked, the lady at the front desk insisted that they were queens, but they were “small queens”. When I complained because I said my teenage kids needed to share such a small bed she let me have the cot for free which is normally $20. I feel like they are trying to squeeze money out of us here, but in general I thought the room was nice and since my kids loved the pool I would come back, but just be prepared knowing they charge for everything.

This is a bare bones motel that’s updated and clean. Location is great, right off the highway. But watch for extra charges. $15 for parking, $5 for each person, etc. they just need to include these ‘hidden’ charges in the room rate and do away with those!

Stay here every year when visiting family. Think of the $14/night parking fee as a resort fee. It allows them to advertise a lower rate online and you get the surprise when you check in. Still a value.

Our stay was good but rooms have some sort of smell at the beginning you’ll get use to it but the first night we arrived we had a problem in the bathroom but we just told the front desk and the problem was resolved the next day so props to them for that. Overall I’d stay here again next time.
