Excellent service, friendliness, cozy room, beautiful environment. Quiet. Peaceful. Continental breakfast very good. It gives the feel of being in a cabin but is a hotel. I would recommend a stay there.

Nice room with a good view. Breakfast was just okay. No eggs and the gravy for the biscuits was very tasteless. The main problem is that the breakfast doesn’t start until 8. That is way too late for anyone wanting an early start in GSMNP.

I liked the river. Room smelled musty coffee pot had mold in it I cleaned myself. Free breakfast was not pleasant and shower curtain had poop or something on it I cleaned off . Bedspread did not look cleaned . Overall was not happy. Said something to staff never offered a remedy 😡

Brookside Lodge
Overall, the stay at Brookside had some pros and some cons. We had 4 rooms for 3 nights, and the location was very nice with the brook in the back. We really enjoyed that. The rooms, however were quite dated. The floors were so dirty that all the kids and adults who walked around their rooms barefoot had BLACK feet. They really need to replace the carpets. The cleaning crew completely skipped 2 of the 4 rooms on the first day, no apparent reason for that. Nothing was left on beds to prevent them from doing a cursory cleaning. The second day, we had to tell them to clean and even then they really only gave towels and made the bed, and emptied garbage. Sinks and bathrooms were not cleaned, the soap marks were not wiped up for example. We weren't super dirty so we survived, however if customers are paying for these services they should really receive them. It would be nice if they put a bit into upgrading the rooms for future visitors, since their location and brook are so nice. Front desk staff was nice.

This was a beautiful place to stay. It is off the main drag so it’s like your hiding in woods in the mountain with a little river flowing by. Loved it! Will definitely be returning.

It was a wonderful stay. Right by the creek very peaceful. We seen a bear very close to us it was amazing to see. The room was huge with a wood burning fireplace very relaxing. We will stay again.

My stay at the hotel was overall fine, but the breakfast was really disappointing. There were no eggs, and the options were overly focused on pastries, with too much flour-based food. The food lacked flavor and didn’t meet the standard I was expecting, which affected the overall experience. I hope they can improve the quality of their breakfast in the future.

What I did like was a lot of parking spaces, it had an elevator, it included breakfast, and I had a balcony that faced a scenic view of the creek. Also, the gentleman that checked us in was very polite and nice. What I did not like was that we were only given two pillows and no blanket just an old bedspread. When we asked for two other pillows, the desk staff acted like it was an inconvenience. The rooms were somewhat outdated but clean.

It was ok. We went for our 28th anniversary because we stayed there in our honeymoon. The room wasn’t very big at all. Just room enough for bed and TV. I don’t recommend the breakfast. It was gravy and biscuits (no meats) some kind if instant pancake maker. Yougurt, bagels and cereal.

Property is very outdated. Sofa cushions did not match. Found blankets thrown in drawer and we did not use because they did not smell or looked washed. Tried to use fireplace and even though flue was opened the room filled with smoke. The staff were very friendly and the location is walkable to downtown and also a free trolley stop if wanted. Breakfast restaurant across the street was perfect.

Units are filthy, they are not being properly cleaned. Pubic hairs left on toilets, hairs in the shower, hairs in the sheets, when we changed our own sheets the mattress cover was stained with urine, blood, and god knows what else. When attempting to change pillow cases the pillows were the color of urine. Unit had terrible smell when we walked in like an old museum. The floors have probably never been mopped, my son’s bare feet were black from walking on the tile floor. I cleaned the unit from top to bottom and it still was dirty. It is years worth of dirt built up. Units need renovating, overall just a really dirty place. Will not be staying again.
