When I booked the room a few months ago. I was under the impression that our room would have a fireplace and be carpeted. WE have stayed here previously and were so happy with our room that we wanted to come back here. Our room was on the ground floor, all the way to the right of the office. The last room on the lower floor, and that was fine. There was LVP flooring that is peaking in the bathroom and will soon need to be replaced. At first glance the room looked clean but upon closer inspection it was not so clean. There were cup rings on the table and weird spots on the floor. The doors, both front and back needed weather stripping installed. There was a constant breeze in the room. The corner where the microwave and coffee maker are smelled of mildew. It was not noticeable at first but every time I opened the fridge it was "stirred up". The first night of our 2 night stay there was a vehicle parked directly in front of our room and it had no parking pass, so we had to park elsewhere. The 2nd night around 2:30a.m. it sounded like someone was banging the doors and dropping things on the floor in the room above us. All in all not a great experience. I will not book online again. I will call to make sure that we get a room that we will enjoy staying in for a few days.

I had an excellent stay here with my girlfriend from Nov. 11th-15th, Brookside lodge was the perfect option for us. The roaring fork river is an incredible feature of this hidden gem. The balcony is great for coffee, listening to birds, and watching the river flow all day. This hotel was incredibly convenient, the staff is very friendly and it’s a solid 10 minute walk from downtown Gatlinburg. The breakfast was included and pretty solid. Quiet and peaceful place, but just outside the Smokies. We saw a bear 3/4 nights! So cool. Highly recommend Brookside lodge

This is the best hotel in the smokies with great service and in a perfect area. It is not aesthetically "updated" but the room is a great old school road tripping feel with wooded balconies and fireplaces. They even sell wood at the desk for a cheap price.

We came here for our anniversary, just an overnight stay. I had asked if they could do anything for our anniversary but no one ever replied or mentioned anything, but that's not that important, it's not why we were there. We had rented the honeymoon suite, which was absolutely lovely. I was really impressed with the bed - it seems that lately, every hotel has exchanged their mattress with a slab of wood. They're so hard! But this bed was soft and lovely, so my partner slept very well (I have a sensitive back so I don't count). Our room was large, had any amenities you'd need, and the furniture was fantastically rustic. There's a real wood fireplace, although they don't provide you with wood - you can buy some from the office if you didn't bring any. The only complaints about the room: firstly, the list of channels for the TV were WAY off. Not sure who made the list but I had to channel surf to find anything. Secondly, the floors, while they looked clean, were FILTHY. Walking barefoot in the room, my feet turned black! I thought for a minute it was me, so I washed my feet and tried again, and in a few minutes they were black again! It was mostly the rug.... The view onto the creek was beautiful, even though water levels are currently low. The property itself is gorgeous. There was a wonderful breakfast the next morning, although I was a little disappointed there were no eggs. Parking was easy and plentiful. There are fire pits, BBQs, Adirondack chairs, and swings everywhere!
