Not so quiet
The stay was interesting if you want a back to basics cottage. Lots of antique and period items here along with Historic character of the cottage. The noise level iis not coducive to one who is a light sleeper. The adjacent Highway and intersection provide a constant stream of accelerating traffic which is noticibly loud until late night and beginning once again early am.

A great find!
We loved our stay. The house was clean, well-appointed with all the amenities we could ask for, and perfect for our needs. As a bonus, it was ideally-suited; an easy walk from downtown, and the HEB grocery store was just a couple blocks away. We would definitely stay here again.

Good, Bad , and Ugly
The house was a well restored farm house in a quiet area of town , conveniently located and very comfortable. The only glitch was the dishwasher. It had rancid standing water in the bottom and began to leak onto floor! Outside of that issue, the place was nice and comfortable.

Great Weekend Getaway for Mom & Daughter!
I brought my preteen daughter here for a weekend one-on-one getaway to have fun, hike, chat, shop, explore, etc. It was the perfect location for us (2 girls). We felt safe. The curb appeal could use some taming, but the inside was wonderful! A great location to relax in-between excursions out around Fredericksburg. It was not super peaceful, as a busy street is not too far from the cottage, as traffic is easy to hear. You had to park on the street, but it's a wide street. The location was central, but not walkable to Main Street. It is 1/4 mile from HEB, so easy to get groceries. The TV worked well, as we watched some shows at night and in the hot afternoon. The bathroom lighting is dim, so I moved a makeup mirror out to the main area to do my makeup & hair. The bathroom lights went out on Saturday, and the management was very responsive about it! Not a big deal at all, but we appreciated the response. There were a fair amount of mosquitos in the cottage, but not sure how to fix that. It's TX summer. Overall, it was a great destination!

On the Macro Level, it looks good. The devil is in the details.
Close to all attractions and in town, but nerss work. The home is nicely located in Fredericksburg. The cleanliness of the home was poor. The manager was responsive, but after you're in a place, how can they clean it. I won't get into the specifics, but both Vacsa and the manager got most of the pics I took of the poor condition I found the home. Beware.

Nice place, management needs a little work
The house was nice, clean, everything you would expect. Parking at the house was easy. Location was close enough to town. The perfect short term rental for a town like Fredericksburg in a lot of ways. No complaints on that front. However, Issue 1- when we walked in, the smoke alarm was chirping every 2 minutes. Notified management but no one did anything about it. I ended up climbing on a chair to disconnect it. Management did not do anything about it until the next day. If I had been unwilling or unable to get up on the chair, the house would have been impossible to sleep in that night. And if I had fallen? Should have never been it that position in the first place. Issue 2- there was only 1 towel in the bathroom. Notified management but nothing was done about it. We ended up finding more towels in the dryer later that night. Is this were a private owner I would have much more tolerance for this sort of thing, but this house is owned by Vacasa, who should be much more on top of things, and I bet a private owner would not have these problems at all. I certainly would not expect it at a hotel, which is the standard to which I hold corporate owners of short term rental properties.

Anniversary trip`
At first glance the property makes a good impression. Entrance was easy as instructions were on time. My wife was ecstatic. Cute house, decorated nice, and tons of places to sit outside for morning coffee or evening cocktail. When we opened the door, the smell of backed up sewer, defective P-trap or rotten food in disposal almost took our breath away. It almost has the smell of a natural gas or propane leak. I assured her it was not the latter. After 2 calls of 20 minutes of hold , I gave up and followed a prompt to leave a text. No response to the text, nor follow up the next day. After the second night of sewer smell, we left for a day trip. That afternoon on arrival, we noticed our trash had been taken out and the smell was mostly gone, possibly 90% improvement. I sent a message to ask a question as to the cause, because the smell was creeping back the next day. NO RESPONSE. Thankfully we spent most of the days away from the house. I give 1 star due to the smell. The house was actually clean. There is NO WAY that someone didn't know about this beforehand. Any sane person that had access to prepare that house would have smelled this. It was simply ignored.

Wonderful Stay at Cosmos Cottage
We enjoyed our stay in the wonderful historic well appointed cottage. We loved the antique furnishings! The accommodations were very comfortable and the location was great. I do have a couple suggestions. A larger trash receptacle in the kitchen. One coffee pot does not work properly and needs to be discarded. There is a second coffee pot that works fine. Would be nice to have a clear set of instructions describing TV remotes to turn on the system. Great stay. Highly recommended this property!
