Wake up in the heart of wine country when you stay at this one-bedroom Fredericksburg suite, a beautiful Texas Hill Country retreat that offers dog-friendly accommodations, a private wood-burning fireplace, and a wonderful location on the Highway 290 Wine Trail.

Beautifully situated just six miles outside of historic downtown Fredericksburg, this traditional stone suite is part of the Historic Rocky Cottage, a charming five-suite property that is ideal for wine enthusiasts. These elegant private suites can either be rented together, for as many as 12 people, or individually by couples and solo travelers. This listing includes the Champagne Suite, located in a gorgeous historic log building facing the shared courtyard.

Whether you're planning a romantic weekend or a group getaway with friends, you'll find Six Shooter Cellars (closed Tuesday and Wednesday) right next door, Alexander Vineyards and Rancho Ponte Vineyards less than one mile away, and Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site only 13 miles away.

The interior living space is full of rustic atmosphere, but offers plenty of luxurious modern convenience. Take a seat and admire the vaulted ceilings and exposed wood beams, bring a book along to read in the comfortable rocking chair, or enjoy the warmth of the stone fireplace on the soft leather sofa.

Spend a day exploring the serene landscapes of Enchanted Rock State Natural Area just 23 miles north, and return home to browse the WiFi or relax with your loved one in front of the flatscreen TV.

Enjoy freshly brewed coffee in your suite each morning, but please be advised that there is no kitchen. Yet you'll hardly notice its absence as you enjoy meals at Vaudeville, the Cabernet Grill, Otto's, and other wonderful restaurants in and around Fredericksburg.

Just beyond your front door, you'll have use of a lovely shaded courtyard with mature trees and a spa-like waterfall fountain. And on most Saturday afternoons, you'll enjoy live music performances and wine tasting courtesy of Fiesta Winery!

At night, the Champagne Suite can accommodate as many as two guests in its one-bedroom, one-bathroom space. The bedroom features rustic wood paneled walls and a king-size bed with a floral coverlet. The spacious full bathroom has a large vanity and a stall shower. Feel free to bring your dog for a small, nightly pet fee (please note a 30 lb weight limit).

With tasting rooms directly on-site, it can be easy to forget about the many Texas Hill Country beauties that await just beyond the property. There are dozens of wineries and tasting rooms in Gillespie County alone, including the renowned Grape Creek Vineyards and 4.0 Cellars just four miles away.

History lovers will also delight in a visit to downtown Fredericksburg, where you'll find more than 80 sites of interest in the historic district alone, as well as a fantastic seasonal farmers market in Marktplatz Kinderhalle.

Leave your worries and cares behind you - let this Fredericksburg retreat give you the restful vacation you've been waiting for!

Anniversary trip

I rented this property at the last minute and it could not have been more perfect. It was close to wineries (including Fiesta Winery on the property) and the Alstadt brewery but far enough away from the bustle of Main Street.

The area is excellent for wineries. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However the bathroom was awful. The toilet rocked, there was a big crack in the sink that was not very sanitary, and the shower door didn’t close so water splashed all over.

The bed was so tall I couldn’t even get on it. My husband had to help me. No lid on the toilet-sink

Beside the bed problem, it was too rustic for us. We liked the area, and it was clean.

LITERALLY steps from wine tastings

Not like across a shared parking lot or walk next door. There’s one courtyard and all the guesthouses and tasting rooms open to it. If you want privacy, though, no worries - they all close at 6pm and you’ll have the quiet night to yourselves. Room was spotless and bed was comfy. And the breakfast danish was AMAZING! Would definitely recommend for groups and parties. Fun spot.

Perfect location!

We loved many aspects of this place with only a couple of small drawbacks! The location is on point (on 290 b/w downtown & the vineyards) & was surrounded by 3 different wineries within 100ft walking distance. The room was nice and comfortable. They had a microwave, coffee maker with coffee provided and a small fridge stocked with creamer, bottled water & OJ. While we loved having dishes/glasses available to use we had to hand wash them in the bathroom sink before we left as there is no other sink. This will eventually cause problems with the sink, makes it very easy to break dishes/glasses & we honestly weren't so sure they were cleaned that well for us before our stay. I think bringing in new dishes and having the dirty ones taken out to be cleaned properly is more appropriate. Upgrading the cable box to HD would also make the TV viewing experience better as the picture quality wasn't that great. All that to say I would still stay there again.

Perfect Weekend Retreat

We loved this cabin. It was roomy, the bed was sooo comfortable, the air conditioner was perfect. The mini fridge was stocked with milk, water and orange juice and a really special touch was the Apple Struedal provided for us. The location was great. We visited all of the wineries on the property and even prepared a nice lunch, purchased a growler from Six Shooter Cellar, sat on our porch and listened to the music from Fiesta winery's patio on Saturday. It was close enough to quickly drive into town and to the LBJ Ranch. On our way back home we visited Enchanted Rock. The icing on the cake is this property is dog friendly. We brought our dog and a couple in the cabin next to us also had their dog. We all sat out on the porch together Saturday night and drank wine together.

Great Location, Fun stay

It was a little confusing finding the location since the address wouldn't work in our GPS, but once we arrived the place was great! There was an Apple Strudel waiting for us and there was great amenities. The room was nice and cozy and the best part was getting to take our dog with us! Thanks!

So beautiful and relaxing. Perfect romantic getaway

The room is so big! Great for the price. Music and drinks right outside. Loved the casual atmosphere. Even though we're 5 minutes from town, there are many wineries near by. Only downside is that very few restaurants are open late, but we had a PHENOMENAL dinner at the Navajo Grill.
