The trail leads into Nantahala National Forest, and you'll find Burningtown Falls three miles west, where you can see some beautiful natural waterfalls. Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts is 10 miles east, with a 1,500-seat venue for professional theater, dance festivals, concerts, films, and comedies. Beautiful
The cabin was beautiful and view was amazing, but that driveway is yikes! Very steep and curvy even with four wheel drive it’s bad. Unless you have a lot of experience with very steep unpaved roads don’t recommend trying it.

Cabin needs a "deep cleaning"
Upon arrival, the cabin appeared clean. We arrived at night. Throughout our stay, I noticed toothpasted above the sink in the Master Bath, food debrie above the kitchen sink, and the area behind the burners on the stove was quite dirty. I am also sad to say that on the last day, I had well over a dozen "bites" on my legs, arms, front and back torso....I think the Master bedroom mattress may have bed bugs. I apologize for the delay in relating this information. I was hoping to avoid putting it on a public site.

Never made it
Can't give a rating since we never made it. Out truck couldn't get up the hill. Responded to a text asking if we made it, saying no truck couldn't make it & didn't hear another word until we got a text asking if we were ready to check out. Wife didn't catch statement on awd/fwd needed. I called VRBO prior to leaving & was told it was just curvy & awd/fwd was not needed. Turns out that was a false statement & a very expensive lesson for us.

Great stay overall
We enjoyed our stay very much overall. The cabin is beautiful and the view is worth every penny. Everyone is talking about the driveway, so I figured I would too. AWD is NOT required. Sure, it is steep, but you can make it. I got up with no problem in a Toyota Avalon FWD. Complaints. If I have to nit-pick on the stay, there were a few items we discovered, and would consider them to be an inconvenience. The wifi is dreadfully slow and pretty much unusable. I measured it as 0.3 Gbps download and 0.00 upload. The gas fireplace in the main bedroom was not working. The air-hockey table in the basement was not working. The bedroom fan lights stopped working, not enough seating inside or outside for a 10-person place, and no full-length mirror for the ladies. We also couldn't start a wood fire easily. There was no provided wood and wood for purchase in the area was scarce. Overall, 4+ stars! The view is worth it all and the cabin was still very cozy.

Best part is the view…
The view is by far the best part of this place. Like others have said, the driveway is a little scary and AWD is a must. We had some cleanliness issues which we didn’t find until later, there were dirty dishes with food in them in the cabinets! The hot tub was dirty, so we had to clean it ourselves. The cabin is nice but it needs a deep cleaning. The beds are super firm memory foam. The cookware was ok but not great. Very low water pressure. We lost power for 6 hours one night due to an outage in the area and the generator at the cabin never came on so we lost most of the food in the refrigerator. We communicated this to the property manager but they never followed up. Overall we enjoyed our stay because of the location and view from the deck. There was lots to do and explore in and around Franklin.

Incredible views
Beautiful rural home with multiple mountainous views. Home has everything you need and more. 4 wheel drive is a must with the driveway, but provides and adventurous ride with tons of wildlife, scenery, and privacy of being removed from life’s hustle. Perfect home for a nice relaxing getaway.

Lack of heat
Cabin was great! Only issue is gas was low so we didn’t have heat the first night/ day. Gas fireplace was non functional in the master bedroom. Otherwise stay was excellent! Would recommend a true outdoor fire pit as well. Thanks!

Whoa what a driveway
It was so beautiful, getting the right temperature was a bit tricky. We also believe there may have been a dead rodent in the spare room, could happen anywhere though. Game table didn't work. This cabin was very beautiful with full kitchen. We were so happy to see it decorated beautifully for Christmas also!

Great Cabin
It was a great cabin, beautiful scenery, but the road up to the cabin was scary. My two wheel drive Ford F-150 could not make the turn up to the cabin. Four wheel drive is a must.

INCREADIBLE LOCATION AND CONSTRUCTION
Beautiful custom log home wedged into the side of the mountain at the end of a long hairpin uphill climb. A large wood burning fireplace, upscale kitchen, great decks, plenty of living space, and total seclusion makes for a perfectly relaxing time away. The views are long and only dotted with a few other structures. The TV provided plenty of viewing as well. Distance to town and other activities is closer than expected for a place so private. It is a great place to be, assuming nimble all-wheel drive is the choice of transportation.

Great View and location
Road going up the mountain is a bit tricky if you have a sedan but doable as long as its not rainy or snow. It was a little chilly at night and we didn't have any extra blankets so bring your own if you tend to get cold. Normal insects/spider webs out on balcony but what would you expect being in the forest. I asked about the blankets but got a reply 1 day later so communication was a bit slow. Overall has a great time! Oh and don't forget to bring firewood.

Terrible Arrival
The listing and owner need to caution guests about the driveway a lot more. Your car must have 4 wheel drive to get up. Must! We have an suv that does not have 4 wheel drive and we go stuck and could not use our car the entire time! We have younger kids that got so scared as well as myself. My husband almost got hurt trying to get our car out. We had to walk up our things on foot. A lot of our grocery items did not make it. The house and view is amazing but you need to caution guests. Luckily our friends had 4 wheel drive but arrived much later.
