Plan an amazing South Oregon Coast escape anytime of year at this beautiful beachside Florence vacation home! Nestled right amidst the beach grasses overlooking gorgeous Heceta Beach, this three bedroom home offers stunning views, a deck overlooking the sand, and a wonderful solarium for storm watching.

In this lovely home, the solarium is the true star. Taking up the whole west wall of the living room, you'll enjoy a view of the beach that will make you feel like you are right out on the sand! View a chilly sunset or a powerful storm while staying warm and cozy inside. Also in the living room, there are comfortable sofas for relaxing, a wall-mounted, flat screen TV with cable, and ocean-themed art adorning the walls, including a large whale mural.

After a day of beach combing and kite flying, come back to the house for a nice dinner and an evening watching movies, reading, or just playing a group game, while you listen to the waves crash below through the open windows. There's also WiFi for checking emails, doing a little work, or researching restaurant options in the area.

If you do choose to stay in for dinner, you'll have a bright and well-stocked, eat-in kitchen on the main floor for meal preparation. Aside from the appliances you'd expect - stovetop/range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave - you'll even have a gadgets like a coffee grinder and a French press, so coffee aficionados will feel right at home here! If you don't feel like heading out on a cold windy day in search of the best bowl of clam chowder, just stay in and make your own!

Out on the deck, you can have a seat and watch the waves, have a glass of wine, or share some pictures of beach scenes online to make all your friends jealous. This large deck has room for everyone to find a quiet spot and enjoy one of the best views on the whole Oregon Coast!

When it is time for bed, everyone in your group will have a choice of three rooms, all with a queen bed, and all with their own TV and DVD player. Two bedrooms are on the lower level (below the main floor), and feature deck access and accessories like bedside tables, reading lamps, and cozy bedding. The full bathroom and half bath are also located on this level.

The third bedroom is just upstairs from the living room, and offers a bit more privacy as it's the only bedroom on this upper floor. This home will comfortably sleep eight guests (there is also a queen-sized futon in the living room). Additional amenities include a washer and dryer for guest use, so you'll have no worries about keeping your pant legs out of the surf and your clothes clean as you explore Florence and the coast!

With a location about five miles north of historic downtown Florence, the Heceta Beach area is a quiet little community. There's a large expanse of sandy beach to explore, so bring a kite, your beach ball, and jogging shoes. Besides the natural ocean attractions, if you are looking for a bite out, Surfside Restaurant at Driftwood Shores is a walkable option for a bowl of seafood stew and a classic cocktail.

Also just north of the house, Darlingtonia State Natural Site is an 18-acre botanical garden dedicated to protecting a single plant species - the Darlingtonia californica, also known as the Cobra Lily. This carnivorous plant has purple blooms in the spring and year-round this park offers a unique glimpse of insect-feasting flora, as well as hiking trails, picnic areas, and a boardwalk. After a stop here, keep heading north about 10 miles to the Heceta Head Lighthouse for a tour of this historic site and to take some pictures of one of the most photographed structures on the Oregon Coast.

When you do make the short drive to downtown Florence, you'll find an amazing coffee shop, and plenty of stores and restaurants to occupy your time. The Beachcomber Pub has an impressive beer list, and the popular Waterfront Depot is famous for its for an award-winning plate of crab-encrusted halibut, classic fish and chips, and Cajun fish burgers.

Also nearby you will find the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, and the Siuslaw National Forest. With so many choices, whether you visit this ocean-view Florence vacation rental for a winter weekend of storm watching from the solarium or come in the summer for fun in the sun out on the beach, you'll never run out of things to see and do!

West coast getaway
The location was excellent. Loved the solarium. Would’ve liked if the shades had been able to close in the solarium or there was an additional fan as it got quite hot during the day. Loves being able to walk to the beach and proximity to downtown Florence for restaurants.

Incredibly beautiful view with the advantage of the solarium! Property a little difficult to locate so needs better signage. HA, we tried to get in a different house! Well equipped but house needs a little bit of TLC. Would love to land here again!

3 Day Stay
Unfortunately, the website does not accurately reflect the condition of this Vacasa property. The list is long of items that needed to be taken care of. The first thing you see upon entering the porch to collect the key is the porch light covered in an old bird nest and poop trailing down it to the floor, Dirty wall to wall carpeting, a closet door off tracks, heater not working in one bedroom, Windowsills on the inside were caked with mold and dirt, and the list goes on. Pretty much the only positive is the location and view.

Great ocean view and location. Home REALLY needs help.
Home needs repairs/new carpet. For the price, (please note, adding VRBO fees actually DOUBLES the advertised per night price!!!!) we definitely felt like the home wasn't worth it. The solarium is really very nice. However, some dirt and spiders have taken up residence along the windows as well so be prepared to share your space. I know that coastal properties take extra abuse from the elements and from visitors so one has to be prepared for some "funkiness" but there's an expectation for the price of cleaning fees/damage fees/etc... The carpet is extremely soiled throughout, the stove bottom was broken, dent in the fridge, hole in the upstairs bedroom door, wall heater didn't work in downstairs bedroom. Plugged in a cell phone to charge in upstairs bedroom and a fuse blew (had to reset it at the electrical panel). The sheets were clean as were the bathrooms. Kitchen also relatively clean. Stove was not (fan on stove-top had food chunks that had fallen in and we had to wipe down oven rack before cooking a pizza). VRBO has been notified of all issues. Perhaps others have complained but the owners haven't been notified of needed repairs???

Horrible experience
Not at all what was described in the listing. The listing shows a beautiful CLEAN beach home but when we showed up there was a pile of poop on the light fixtures and on the porch floors next to both of the front doors. The carpets and windows were filthy, closet doors derailed, curtains ripped, holes in the screen windows. Security lights and porch lights do not work (one of the security lights was hanging down the side of the home) this is a safety hazard because there's stairs leading to the front door, we all had to use the flashlights on our phones so we could see where we were going. The railing on the stairs were not secure either. This was a special occasion for my daughter as she was going to be proposed to here but we ended up having to go elsewhere. We reached out to Vacasa and they sent a member of their team to address the light issue so we pointed out all the other issues that I listed above and he said they had a busy summer and they wasn't able to get to everything and they were aware of the light issues. If this was the case we should have been made aware of it all or they should have not rented it out until it was all fixed! I reached out to Vacasa multiple time via text and emails with pictures and videos, and no one called me back. Instead they sent me an email saying "they're glad all my issues were resolved". NO IT WAS NOT RESOLVED!!!! I'M STILL WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO CALL ME BACK! Do not rent here this listing is very misleading.

Do not book
Pictures misleading. Very dirty. Stains on carpet. Windows dirty. Curtain broken. Tape on window with black mold. No rail going up the short walk. To hard for older people to navigate. Called as soon as we arrived. Couldn’t get my 82 and 83 min and aunt up the walk as the undergrowth was taking over the pathway and they tried holding onto the fronds to stabilize themself. Would not stay there with the mold, dirtyness of the place with them. Called the property management to let them know. They couldn’t give me an answer. Told them I put the key back and went to town and booked a room. We live 7 hours away. Very disappointed in the company as I still don’t have a refund Overall horrible customer service and experience

View made the Stay
You’re definitely paying for the great view. House could use some upgrades though. Upstairs bedroom curtains are hung on very lumpy and bent rods and the curtains are see through and don’t make for good privacy. One of the solarium shades is busted and coffee grounds were in the coffee maker when we arrived.

The views from this property are awesome and as advertised. My friends and family had a great time. The place needs a good deep clean. Nothing major, but mold on the window screens, there was stuff on the carpet upon our arrival, etc... I would definitely stay here again. I think the property owners aren't getting the most out of their cleaning staff. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS and very nice neighbors.

Unbeatable View
The solarium was a hit with my entire family, even kids. The pictures don't do justice to the view. Great location with easy access to the beach, resturaunts, and late night runs for coffee. The only criticism I have is that the bed in the downstairs bedroom (south side room) should be replaced. It didn't feel stable enough to support two adults and was extremely squeaky to even the smallest of movements.

Nice place, incredible viewing
Loved the place. The sunroom can’t be beat for a Florence rental. Small but very well laid out so it doesn’t feel squeezed. The only criticism I’ve got is that the bed in the small room has a comically squeaky bed frame! And watch out for the dryer turning off half way through the dry cycle. Otherwise just a lovely place and we really enjoyed it.

Fabulous Expansive VIEW
The house is bigger than we needed; would be great for a family. We spent most of our time in the lounge chairs in the sun room. The house has everything you need to move right in and start enjoying the wonderful location. You can walk on the clean sandy beach for hours, but if it is stormy you are set with a front row seat to watch. We will be back.

Great place!
It was a great place to stay! But there were a few faults. The key lockbox was impossible to get back on. There were munched Doritos and Cheerios on the carpet in the solarium room when we got there. It also took us forever to find the alarm box which is in the laundry room to the right of the kitchen. There is beach access to the right of the house. There’s a trail, it’s a jaunt but not too bad. The house was super hot and even with all the windows open stayed pretty warm in 72 degree weather. There is a keurig which vicassa told me there was not. Those are the only down points. Overall, it was a great place to stay with comfortable beds, toys for the kiddos & we had a great time. I have an 18 month old & 5 year old and was very kid friendly. We all had a blast & will make this a yearly trip for sure. It was all in all wonderful & a great place! We will be back!
