"Great budget-friendly stay with kitchen amenities We stayed at Lamplighter Inn & Suites at SDSU for 3 nights in April 2025 and had a pleasant experience overall. The location is quiet and convenient — easy to reach downtown and Balboa Park by car. The room was clean and comfortable. We especially appreciated the well-equipped kitchenette: it had all the basic cookware and utensils we needed, plus a large fridge and coffee maker. Free parking was a big plus. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but enough to start the day — waffles, toast, yogurt, juice, coffee, and hard-boiled eggs. Only downside: we couldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi in our room and didn’t use it. Also, the furniture could use a refresh, but everything worked fine. Overall: 4 out of 5 stars. A very good stay — comfortable, convenient, and affordable. We’d stay again despite minor issues."
