The Seafarer is an amazing and small condo building that I'd love to visit again, but I wouldn't stay in this unit again unless money is put into it. The decor is weird, I could see that from the pictures, but it feels weirder and much darker in there than the pictures show. A lot of the lights have red glass around them so a weird red light shines on everything.
The entryway has a small bench to put shoes on, but the top was slightly broken and wouldn't stay, so you couldn't actually use it.
The outlets were old and wouldn't keep a plug in them. To charge your phone by your bed, you had to pull the bed away from the wall to get the single outlet. There should be charging night stands like in most places. The outlets in the bunkbeds didn't work and I thought maybe they were tied to a switch, but none of the switches made it work, that was hard because our daughter who needs a phone near her for medical reasons couldn't charge it overnight.
The kitchen was awful. The fridge did not work. I had to have maintenance come in twice. First time he told me it was working because the freezer was working (freezer was super cold, the fridge was warm). The second time, the next day, he said it was probably my fault for leaving the door open...I didn't. Our family has dietary issues and we eat most of our food at the places we stay. This was hard without a working fridge. We also have insulin to keep cold, so we had to keep rotating ice packs we brought with us and lived out of our cooler. This seems completely unacceptable to me. We lost food that we left in the fridge not knowing it wouldn't get cold enough.
The front left burner of the range did not work. It was an older coil electric range and that one wouldn't lock into place. So that part was unusable. Just seems weird to know that it's not working and not fix it.
The garbage can to me was the perfect example of this place. It was one where you step on to make the lid lift, but that mechanism was cracked and broken. A simple and cheap fix, but no money seems to have been put in this place in a long time.
The shower had mold in the knob to turn the water on and off. The bathroom vanity looked like it had water damage on it.
The sliding door didn't lock so we put a suitcase in front of it at night in case someone tried to come in. One of the chairs on the balcony was cracked and broke the first time a child sat in it.
We saw another unit in the place, it was so nice, this unit was disappointing.
