Beautiful Lake Mountain Retreat
We had a wonderful time enjoying the mountain hikes and water sports that are easily accessible from this property. The hill down to the boat dock is steep, but my 15 year old daughter that recently had knee surgery was able to make it up and down the path - she just had to take it slow. We enjoyed the canoe and paddleboards, the board games, and the pool table. Each afternoon we had a short rain shower and the indoor games/puzzles/pool table/ping pong kept us entertained until the rain could pass. The kitchen is well-equipped and the property owner was very responsive. The lay-out of the home worked perfectly for us because our teenage children could have the main floor while we had the upstairs. The lower level game room gave the teens a private escape while we prepared meals each evening on the main level.

Relaxing Mountain Retreat
Beautiful mountainous retreat! Private, heavily forested area. We enjoyed the ping pong table and canoe. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Extra special to have a variety of seasonings to add to our potatoes. The towels were great quality. Loved the lake view from the dock! As noted on other reviews, stairs to the lake were numerous and one small area of decline was steep and without a railing. Wear good tennis shoes that grip-it rained almost the entire time we were there so this spot was particularly treacherous. As with almost every home in this area, it was designed vertically so many stairs are in the home as well-to get to the master, to go to the basement to play ping pong. Need to have good knees! The beds were firm so bring an egg crate if you prefer a softer surface. We really enjoyed the porches with the rockers, hammocks and fantastic woodland/lake views! We spent many hours reading out there! The hummingbirds, tufted titmouse family, chipmunk and squirrels we really fun to watch. The owner supplied food for their feeders. We had brief interactions with the property manager who was swift and helpful and the housekeeper who was sweet and delightful! I definitely recommend this lovely home if you want a wooded retreat to unwind. We would love to return!!!

Perfect house for us, great dock, nice firepit
House was found per our expectations and plenty clean. I'd clarify the description of the bedrooms to Master/King/Bath Suite upstairs of the main level: very private. The two other bedrooms are on the main level. The sofabed is downstairs in the Game Room and is equipped with an extra thick mattress/cushion that can be used to make it comfortable - this was draped over the pool table. Bathrooms on all three floors. Internet plenty fast. TV is fine but didn't get much use. Both the main level and the Game Room have deck/patio access via sliding doors. House/kitchen has everything you need including grill tools. Grill was very clean. A full spare propane tank on standby. Water toys were enjoyed and we did bring our own ski vests - I do not know if these were available? This house, along with most others on the lake that have private docks, is situated quite a bit higher than the lake level as the terrain is so steep. Sets of stairs and a landscaped path are provided, with the great fire pit sitting area on the way down to the dock. Firewood is not provided but can be scavenged out of the woods: plenty of this to be had, but one can take a short drive and pass roadside firewood for sale too. We had a great stay third week of June 2022 w/beautiful weather. The mountains Cool down nicely at night, probably mid-high 60's early in the morning. Central A/C and dehumidifier kept the house comfortable as you'd expect. Lake water temperature about perfect: refreshing but not cold, I'd guess high 70's. Absolutely perfect boating weather: a bit hot in the sun, nice in the shade under the bimini. A free public boat ramp, which we used, is just a mile away. From the dock it is just a short boat ride of a few hundred yards. My GMC gps vectored me over Cullowhee Mountain Road on arrival from Interstate 40: best to avoid this goat path. Use Rt. 107 instead to go to south to Cashiers and to/from the 40. Our stay: As Good As It Gets.

Very nice
The cabin was very clean and well stocked. The owner Mike was very nice and easy to get in touch with. We had a little car trouble and Mike helped us out by letting us use his tools. The only thing is we didn't realize how steep it was down to the water. There is a nice walk way but for a person with a knee replacement it was a hard walk. My kids had no trouble .

I’ve stayed in many vacation rentals and this one had the most beautiful view and best outside spaces (inside too). It was perfect! The lake is amazing! We enjoyed the canoe, kayak and paddle board and I enjoyed having the whole top floor master suite to myself.

Beautiful Mountain Home
We, 3 ladies in our late 60’s, had a wonderful time at this beautiful home in the mountains. It was very clean and well appointed. Very nicely decorated also. Our only problem was maneuvering the trail down to the lake. It was very steep and slippery. Some hand railings would have been nice. We were told that a golf cart would be provided to access the dock. When we arrived we were told that the golf cart was in the shop. Other than that, we had a great time!

Very good Lakehouse
Enjoyed our stay very much. The house is clean, organized, and cozy. Two bedrooms on the “ground” floor and the master upstairs. Basement has a nice family room with a pull out sofa, bathroom/shower, laundry, and pool table room. (good for teenagers and young adults, although the pull out sofa bed could be a little more comfortable) The downstairs deck also has a large storage container with foldable chairs, life preservers etc. The dock is great, and it’s located in a wider section of Pine Creek. We were able to ski, tube & kayak from the dock, up and down Pine Creek. The walk up to the house from the dock is fine for kids, young adults and healthy adults; but it might be a little steep for the elderly and/or people with any physical limitations. There is a stone deck/fire pit area just below the house which is very nice. Overall, a very good lake house.

Beautiful remote location
We had a great getaway in this great spot high up on the lake. Too cold to enjoy the outdoor amenities, but the house was perfect for us with scenic (and very winding!) drives to Cashiers, Highlands, Franklin, and Sylva. Lots of space to work with - although it's a LONG way down to the lake out back! We may try to come back in the spring/summer to take advantage of all that we missed.

A glorious week on lake Grenville
We spent a wonderful week in this well appointed lake house. We cooked all our meals. The kitchen had everything we needed and more including a beautiful dining set, coffee maker, spices, salt, sugar, mixer, blender ... and a good grill. The house is tastefully decorated and most importantly super clean. It came with trash bags, detergent, shampoo, foil, ziplock bags etc. which we much appreciated. We were 1 couple and three adults, the home offered plenty of private and family space. We enjoyed playing pool in the basement. The beds were very comfortable including the pullout sofa in the basement. The basement offered my son his own quarters complete with a bathroom which made him happy. We took out the canoed to 3 beautiful waterfalls on the lake. The hike back to the house from the dock is a bit strenuous. The owners have procured a golf cart and were in process of installing a cart path to the dock which should greatly help. Be aware that there is no trash service so renters must take their own trash to the center. The home was our base to many gorgeous waterfalls, the blue ridge parkway, Brevard, Cashiers, Highlands ... Best to get all your groceries before arriving as the closest store is about 20 min away down the mountain. Overall we truly enjoyed this home, the fall colors were amazing! I highly recommend staying there and look forward to a future stay.

We are a family of four, so there was plenty of room. We enjoyed the pool table in the basement and all of the outdoor deck space. The paddleboards, kayak and canoe were also great. We rented a pontoon boat, which was very convenient. The house sits much higher than the lake and the walk back up is difficult, so if you have any physical limitations it would be a challenge.

This was the perfect getaway! The home was very clean and had everything we needed. Our family enjoyed spending time on the decks, relaxing in the hammocks, playing games of pool and especially all of the lake activities. We made good use of the canoe, kayak and paddleboard and we also rented a boat to tour the lake, see the waterfalls and ride a tube. Everything was fantastic!

Beautiful Lakeside Adventure
The home was every bit as beautiful as pictured. Everything was clean extremely well during this time of Covid-19. The canoe by the lake was a lot of fun. We also rented a pontoon boat at a local marina to see the lake and waterfalls. We enjoyed the screened deck and view of the lake. We live in the lower elevations of North Carolina and appreciated the coolness of the mountain elevation. Mike had many helpful suggestions, and it was enjoyable talking to him. I would highly recommend renting this property. We made wonderful vacation memories.

Nice break in the mountains
My 2 adult children and I visited southwestern NC from 6/10-6/14/20. It was our first trip to Lake Glenville. The home was fantastic, lakefront with a beautiful wooded view from the porch. Weather was nice and cool. We had everything we needed. WiFi was great. Enjoyed visiting Cashiers. My daughter used the canoe to paddle out to a close by island. Went whitewater rafting down the Chatooga and kayaking down the Tuckaseegee. Visited restaurants in Franklin and Dillsboro. Would highly recommend this home. Mike was very attentive and helpful.

Excellent Stay!
Great house to get away from it all and relax! House is well equipped and everything was in working order for a great stay. The house has a great covered porch with a great view of the woods/lake. Very large dock also which was a favorite with the kids for swimming and fishing. We rented a boat from Signal Ridge Marina which was very easy. Was just a 12 minute boat ride to come pick the family up from the dock and had a couple great days tubing on the lake. If you take several trips a day from the dock to the house you will even build up some leg muscles too as it is quite the hike up even though there is a nice path. We would highly recommend this house!
