The Hitching Post was perfectly situated for our day hiking and exploring the north rum of Black Canyon of the Gunnison and the price was affordable. Cherri, the owner was a doll and communicated all the check in details. The room was clean and had nice fluffy towels. We appreciated there was a fridge and microwave. My only critque is the mattress is badly in need of replacing. When I sat on the edge of the bed, my butt sank in like there was hole. The mattress sank in badly towards the middle and was vey squishy. Fortunately it didnt keep me from getting a good night's sleep. We enjoyed our stay and had a fun surprise while taking an after dinner walk through the cemetery across the street--happened upon Joe Cocker's grave!

Amazing staff, good place!

The staff are exceptional and live on site. We stayed here to check out Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park’s north rim. Had a blast!

This was an amazing experience. A very clean facility and the whole rustic atmosphere was awesome. I will be back for sure. Crawford is a gorgeous town to visit.

Such a fun property above the farm store in town. Very clean and owners are great people. It’s not the ritz, but clean & peaceful and comfy bed. Dated fixtures but all part of its charm. A great restaurant & coffee shop in town too. A great view from balcony of hotel to watch the stars at night. Crawford reservoir only minutes away along with the stunning Black Canyon. Needle Rock is a great sunrise trail looking over the valley. For the price and location, it was a deal. Loved it

Clean, comfortable and quiet!

We were very happy with our stay at the Hitching Post. Dale and Cherri have obviously made a lot of improvements since buying it several years ago. It's clean, comfortable and quiet, and very reasonably priced. We'll definitely stay there again if we go through Crawford Colorado.

Super friendly and helpful staff. It is a privately run hotel - extremely affordable - not fancy but very clean and comfortable. Cherrie went out of her way to deal with Expedia on my behalf when we wanted to make a change to the reservation. I could not ask for better service on the part of this motel!!
