Enjoyed our stay!
My daughter and I came up for a quiet weekend and stayed in one of the cabins. We enjoyed our stay. It was a quiet and relaxing time. The cabin was nice and clean. I am not a big fan of plug-ins/scents, but those were easy to just unplug. Scents give me a headache. The only reason I gave the cleanliness 4 stars is because the shower curtains in the master bathroom needed a refresher. They were pink on the bottom. I can't judge too much, because our liners need to be changed, too. :) I can see the advantages of renting the three cabins with families and friends. You could all near each other, but still enjoy your own spaces. Thanks for a great stay!

Smells older than it looks
Our stay at blue creek shoals was no good. The entire home smelled old and sour. We had to buy some febreeze and light candles to help with the smell. We couldn’t open any windows because the house was so dang hot when we got there. When we went to adjust the air we noticed the batteries were corroded inside of it, so we had to buy new batteries. One of the first things we noticed was the clicking on the igniter on the stove. We had to unplug it. The bed sheets and comforters smelled like they hadn’t been washed in a very long time. The property pictures are very deceiving. The hallway to the main bath and bedroom was so small my boyfriend had to turn sideways to walk through it. The house definitely needs to be updated. It was unclear about having to share the property with other families our backyard was connected to another cabin, which we did not care for at all. We couldn’t use the hot tub because there was a window on the opposite cabin where they could see into the area where the hot tub was and it just felt weird. The house definitely creaks and makes noises everywhere. We found rat/roach droppings in the cabinets where the cookware was, so if you plan on cooking wash the dishes for sure or bring your own. We found hair in the bathrooms and on the kitchen utensils. The drain in the main bath wouldn’t drain good while showering. Light bulbs were missing upstairs in the bathroom and lamps. The cabin wasn’t what we expected at all. It was a disappointment.

Great peaceful place
My wife and I together with our little puppy had a great time at the Blue Creek Shoals, we enjoyed spending time at the house, cooked a lot as the kitchen provides you all the tools and features needed, to be extra picky a hood on top of the stove would have been perfect to pull all the steam and the smoke/smell off. Hot tub was great as well and we took several walks down the steam (little river) with a nice area to relax and if you are in the mood of grilling you can as there are few grills by. we will definitively go back if we will stop by the area

Secluded cottage
The cabin has a rustic charm. It is literally at the end of the road in a cluster with two other cottages. It was a very peaceful, quiet location. Only about 15 minutes away from Helen.

Peaceful, fun setting
Loved our stay in this beautiful area. The location of the cabin on the property was beautiful. Really enjoyed the outdoors and the drive to Helen. The drive was only 15-20 min. The cabin felt like home, had all the amenities I could want. The trails could be cleaner but otherwise nice place to take the dogs.

Weekend getaway-mixed emotions
My husband and I with our 2 dogs (pre-approved) stayed for labor day weekend. We arrived late Friday evening. Initially blown away by the house. It is gorgeous! I was mostly impressed by the cleaning... only found dog hair in the sheets, urine stains on the upstairs carpet(only carpet in house) and dirty towels in the wash. Really, for a pet friendly property that's not terrible! The beds were clean and comfortable with nice bedding. I can understand that dog hair is hard to get out when washing sheets, it didn't really bother me. I'm a big animal lover and can oversee animal related issues. We stayed in the downstairs master bedroom so the carpet upstairs didn't affect us a bit. Everything else was very clean. Hot tub is big. They say they drain and refill the tub between each reservation. The water was cloudy and half of the jets didn't work. The temperature was hot and felt great after a day of hiking. The creek nearby is nice. The trails were a overgrown so we stuck to the "main" road to walk the dogs. We saw a set of twin fawns playing together multiple times. It was adorable. Part of the road to get to the house is gravel with some areas that have washed away. I can imagine it can be difficult to navigate in a car or bad weather. The trout pond is small and we were relieved we didn't spend the $50 to fish there. Our biggest issue was the TVs. Internet did not work at all so the smart TVs didn't work, and we had no phone service due to the area itself not the house. We quickly became jealous of the other homes having Direct TV. The rental company is closed Saturdays so the only way to reach anyone was through email which was tough bc we didn't have internet or service.... after they sent someone to fix the TV and clogged shower drain, neither of them still didn't work. After reaching out a second time and waiting over 2 hours we canceled the service bc we needed to leave to eat dinner. If we were spending more than a couple days we would have definitely needed some service. The house is gorgeous but we wouldn't stay here again. We spent over a thousand dollars for 3 nights and didn't seem it was worth that money. We would spend more just to be sure we got our monies worth and avoid these little issues. Our experiences in this area were great but we will look into another vacation rental company.

Not to expectations
The cabin property should have been cleaned after the storm. Deck was extremely dirty with leaves, sand, branches ect. There was lots of moisture in upstairs bedroom which they attempted to fix for our second night. Sofa in living room with big tear and it sits low to the ground. Needs to be updated. My wife found hair under comforter on top of sheet. Bath rug and counter and mirror were dirty. Location is ok but I thought since it was under Helen it wouldn’t be 20 minutes away with Cleveland address.

Recent Visit - August 2021
We stayed at this property for almost a week. The place was very clean/well maintained, and the check-in/out process was extremely easy and hassle-free. The location is perfect and quiet. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. This is the place to go if you want to spend some quiet and relax time. The beds were very comfortable, and the reclinable chairs were very comfortable as well. The kitchenware was enough for my stay, but it may need an upgrade or add more items to it. I would definitely rent this place again, and recommend it.

This property is beautiful, has everything my children loved, from a creek to make mud pies in to a deck outside their room to star gaze, the chef kitchen provided a fun place to cook and make cooking videos, foosball and hot tub was a nice addition. The grounds keeper does an amazing job keeping this place so beautiful, flowers and trails...fantastic stay
