Housekeepers were waiting around on us to leave, a full hour and a half before check out time. They even asked if they could take the sheets off the bed while we were still in the room.

The room was clean and comfortable, the restaurant food was really good with large portions (served cafeteria style), and all staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Thunderbird Lodge is an oasis in a vast desert. Lovely trees and grassy lawns throughout the historic property. The rooms are basic but clean and updated. The staff were friendly and attentive. The cafeteria provided tasty food at a reasonable price. I would recommend the Lodge and would gladly visit it again.

This was a wonderful place to stay near Canyon de Chelley. Great cafeteria. Tours offered into the canyon. Fun gift shop.

Found roaches in our room. Room smells bad. Carpet is very old and stinky. Reception clerks are not friendly. They had long sour faces. Unwelcomely. Food choices at the restaurant are limited. Very pricey, too. Sales clerk at the souvenir shop was pleasant.

Enjoyed it's proximity to Canyon de Chelly and Monument Valley. Quiet area. Didn't care much for the cafeteria options, although the town of Chinle is a quick drive for other dining establishments and grocery.

We enjoyed a two-night stay at the Thunderbird Lodge while visiting Canyon de Chelly. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The location is very convenient to the park visitor center and the rim drives. We took the Lodge's 4-hour tour of the canyon, which was incredible thanks to our wonderful guide Harold, and it was reasonably priced. We also enjoyed several meals in the cafeteria, which offers freshly cooked meals (Navajo tacos!) in addition to the cafeteria -style offerings.
