The room itself was very clean and beds were very comfortable. Shower hardware is old outdated and can be renewed. Otherwise no problems with the room. The room i’d rate a 7.5/10.
The tours offered to Canyon de Chelly were very disappointing and not worth it at all imo.
We paid $160 for two, our tour guide was rushed, reluctant to answer questions and extremely difficult to understand. Additionally, he seemed to end the tour prematurely and other trucks had additional stops.
Furthermore, the gift shop owner recommended the tour guide, which was surprising, as there were many other tour guides all of which seemed to speak better english. We unfortunately got little to no value from our tour guide and just tried to make the best of it and enjoy the drive in to the canyon.
In terms or rating the overall Canyon de Chelly tour experience:
Value: 2/10
Guide: 2/10
Ride Experience in to the canyon 5/10
Overall, 3/10
not worth it, would rather spend this time/money exploring the upper part of the canyon instead which had breathtaking views and cost little to nothing.
We didn’t eat at the thunderbird diner, as the buffet style food did not look appetizing - perhaps others can speak to that more.
