We had a great time vacationing in this beach house
This is a very nice beach house. The views are just incredible. Beach access is outstanding. Just walk down the backyard stairs down to the beach. The back patio is awesome. The stay was comfortable with many amenities provided. There were minor kick-knacks however. Checking in with the electronic codes for the front door was a pain. Neither the code provided in the welcome email from Vacasa nor the newer code provided by the Vacasa customer service agent when we arrived at the house can open the locked front door. So the customer service agent told me the code over the phone to open the lock box to get the key to the front door. That worked. However, it was difficult to remove the key after locking and unlocking the front door. Basically the key could be stuck in the lock, and I usually had to re-lock or re-unlock the door then wiggle the key in and out and left and right until it breaks loose from the door lock sort of randomly. So times were wasted working the door lock key. There were only a few times that I was able to remove the key just fine. So that front door lock was a real pain to work with. Also, as mentioned by the other guests to this house, it smelled bad when we first arrived. So during the day as long as we are in the house we opened up all the doors and windows and let it air out. After a few days of doing this it does not smell so bad any more. Also the stairs down to the beach could be rennovated. All in all we enjoyed our stay despite those small issues.

Perfect views, less-than-perfect accommodations
You cannot beat the views of this house, and there is plenty of space. The drawback was the OVERWHELMING smell of smoke in the back den/living room—where the only TV in the house is. There are no windows you can open, so the smell was impossible to air out. The kitchen could be better stocked, but overall it was ok. The house was not very clean—the floors were especially filthy and it smelled very dusty and smoky. We enjoyed the patio and the east beach access, and the views are absolutely stunning.

April getaway
The beach house had amazing views and great beach access. The decor is very dated and could use a refresh. The kitchen was stocked with all the basics but could use a set of wine glasses and more acrylic or plastic drinking glasses for the kids. We had to buy salt, so whoever checks the pantry for basics needs to be more thorough. Overall, any downsides were minimal in comparison to the large deck, ocean views and great beach access.

Nice house, questionable management
Overall, a nice place. The view is amazing and the house is very large. I did have some trouble with the property management. This property is not an owner/operator type situation. It is managed by a large company called Vacasa and you can tell. The help line is a 800 number that eventually gets you in contact with a work from home type person. Everyone that I spoke sounded either stoned or just plain unaware. Separately, the stairs down to the beach from the house were partially destroyed in a recent storm. When I asked if they were going to be repaired , the company texted me, saying no. They also informed that I could use the public access stairs down the road. No mention of my requested discount either. Very impersonal and corporate. So summary, the house is fine, but if I owned a vacation house, I wouldn't hire Vacasa to manage it.

This is an older home, needing updating and maintenance. Great location with beach access, a spacious outdoor deck, nice for relaxing with coffee or a glass of wine. Comfortable beds.

Funky
This property has been neglected inside. Outside, the stairs need repair and are very rickety. Inside, all the furnishings are old, old, old. the kitchen was a particular disappointment. There is one-of-a kind glassware from GoodWill. No wine glasses; Silverware old, rusty inadequate. Probably about 25 shot glasses. Parts of pans, tops, bowls strewn all over the kitchen. Needs new glassware. Bathtub dangerous. No hand rail or stripping on bottom of tub.Dirty placemats and pot holders. Pillow with blood spot. Old dusty fake foliage in Master Bedroom. All outside foliage needs attention especially in front. Really disgusting.

Vintage Views in Covid
Loved the location and access to ocean!! Children in our group (3 houses total) spent hours at beach. Due to Covid, didn’t frequent the town much but loved the outdoors, hiking (some climbed one of the sisters) and clamming (leaving them in place though) and digging. Patio had absolutely incredible Sunset views and we actually used the little atrium to have meals socially distant from my son who was from LA. The house was an interesting time-stood in the 70s house, but very child-friendly and fine for our needs. Loved our stay!

Rambling, interesting home
We enjoyed our stay and the two of us found it delightful to be in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. The views are awesome and the home was immaculate - the cleanest rental we have ever been in nationally and internationally. We liked it that it wasn't "updated" and do wear gloves if you are older like us 75 and 86 as the railing to the beach is authentic. We plan on staying again. Suggestions: 1) Provide detailed instructions for operation of TVs, 2) Remove sediment buildup from street gutter so water does not collect adjacent to the parking area, and 3) inform your neighbor to your immediate south of the deterioration of his house along the walkway.

Great beachside house.
The only problem was that the Master Bedroom mattress was very uncomfortable and the twin beds need to be replaced. But the location was amazing. It would be worth while for the owners to invest in better beds and to update decor. Maybe wall off the old bathtub in the Master Bedroom. Thank you.

Great location.
Enjoyed our stay because of the fantastic location, but the property is dated. The stairs to the beach need to be replaced - rotten wood. My grandson got slivers from the railing. The bedspreads are very old. We didn't use them. TVs leave something to be desired.

Views amazing and patio is great.
The house is really old! But the views were amazing. Great location and love the beach access. The house itself needs updating and could add a tv in the main room for the evening. The back room could be a bedroom. The indoor patio is amazing for kids to hang out.

Rooms with a view
Beautiful views! You can’t beat the views and the location. This was a great house for those with young children and actually has three different living areas with an enclosed patio for kids . The Kitchen is very old and difficult to cook in so try to eat out more ! The beds were a bit hard and the twin bed room has a bad odor. But... it was overall good and we would come back again.

Visually impaired spouse had easy access to the entire house
The house is HUGE! Lots of places to read!!! Very 70's retro décor- which was awesome! Master bedroom suite was nice with it's own toilet with tub/shower, separate vanity and faucet with lots of built-in drawers, an old "jet tub"(?) don't know. It was filled with artificial plants- no access, but LOVED the mirrored walls around it! Visually impaired spouse had very easy access to the entire house. The main house is 1 level- BONUS! Rooms are spaced out nicely; access to all was easy. No furniture in high traffic areas- he had lots of room to roam and find his way without knocking things over with cane, feet, or hands. As the main cook, he found the kitchen to be well organized and didn't need to ask for help finding things after the first day. (These are things we hope for when traveling) Downside: Access to the beach (not that it deterred us from enjoying the place) was not mentioned on website. Stairs/steps to beach were... unkept. Lots of twists and turns, starts off with wood stairs, a couple toward the bottom not level, then cinder blocks, dirt/ground, cement to end. Railing (not available in about 10 ft area) is very splinter prone- not a problem for most (just don't use them, right?) but with blind husband (or maybe an elderly person) it is a very slow and cautious descent all week. Also: Did not know that there was tar on the beach... found it on feet and on tub floor. No cleaner for tub in any cupboard (Comet, etc), not even a rag to scrub to clean except for the ONE roll of paper towels in the kitchen. (Neighbors said baby-oil works well to remove from feet. Empty-nesters do not just automatically pack baby-oil); would've been nice to know. Overall, it was a great vacation. Kitchen had all the cooking and eating utensils we needed. Place was very clean. Quiet. The roar of the ocean lulled us to sleep for a blissful seven nights. Nothing beats being right there on the water!

Wonderful view and access to beach!
We just returned from a family vacation from Cayucos. We loved this house. It was perfect for our family of 6. The private beach access was amazing and was very convienent for the little ones. The only issue we had was a few splinters from the wooden stairs to the beach. We also would have loved to bring our pup but dogs aren't allowed. Other than those two minor things.. We had a blasted and enjoyed our stay. Thank you for having us!
