CANALFRONT Avon – Tarpon Ln. – Nestled in a tree lined cul-de-sac sits DRIFTER’S DOCK, the idyllic spot for your Hatteras Island vacation.

Drift through the canal or paddle to Pamlico Sound. The home is nestled on a large private grassy lot, perfect for the kids and dogs. Fish for hours off the private two tier dock, for easy water access. The screened porch offers a space to relax and enjoy nature. Catch moments of peace in the morning and watch the sky turn pink over the trees or in the evening as the sun sets over the water. Underneath the house is a large concrete area for parking, outdoor games and a large storage room for your sports gear. Gather the family for a short walk to the beach. Wash off in the outdoor shower or use one of the two convenient hose spigots after a sandy day at the beach.

Inside you'll be welcomed by vaulted ceilings, with exposed beams and an open floor plan. WiFi and smart TVs throughout, surround sound stereo inside and on the screened porch. Settle into one of the three bedrooms, a master king sized bed with a private attached bath, second queen bedroom. The third bedroom includes two singles.

Every inch of this beach cottage will remind you of Hatteras Island. You’ll find yourself always drifting back to DRIFTER’S DOCK.

*Guests have access to Kinnakeet Shores Pool & Tennis courts. You will sign in with the attendant using the house name.

Dogs are welcome for a fee of $200/dog/week.
If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the $200 weekly fee will apply for each dog and will be added once your reservation is finalized.

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-refundable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

Great Home!
This is a perfect home if you have dogs. It is at the end of the street and has a great dock for kayaking and dock diving for your pups. It was super clean and stayed very cool. It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach access, but staying on the canal is worth it. We caught more fish off the dock than we did on the pier or the beach. It also has a great yard. We will stay here again.

Family Beach Vacation
Drifter's Dock is a great beach house located on a canal and a short walk to the beach. The house was clean and has a well stocked kitchen. There is a grill, two kayaks, and some beach gear available. The house is well cared for. The only downside is that the living room and porch furniture is quite old and uncomfortable. There are several upgrades inside like the washer/dryer, and refrigerator. I would encourage the property to upgrade the furniture and it would be perfect! The property advertises sleeping for 7 but it doesn't have a pull out couch or cot so unless 3 are to sleep in the king sized bed, there is only room for 6 maximum. The location is very convenient to all of the shops, grocery store, and restaurants. Biking and walking is easy in Avon. The property comes with access to the beach club which is a nice perk. The club is about a 5 minute drive with lots of parking and easy access to the beach and pier. While we were there, the bar and grill was not open. The club's website makes it sound like more happens than really does but it was worth having a pool for hot beach days. Overall, an excellent stay at a lovely property.
